Around SBN: Nevin Shapiro Vows To Bring Down Miami

Ben: To go or not to go?

So what does everyone think about this?  Honestly, I see where Ben wants to play, he wants to be the go-to guy so he probably feels its "his" responsibility to get in there and make plays.  But I can't help but thinking, if he gets hit again, its Troy Aikman-Steve Youtn-all over again.  Plus, I'm totally confident in Charlie's matchups against the Raiders, although did I read somewhere they have the first ranked Passing Defense?  IS that true?  Or is that just because their run "D" is so suspect?  I see Willie jaunting it all over the place, as long as the O-Line shows its true colors.

Anyone hear anything else on Casey Hampton's injury?  Is it just me or are we getting killed with the injury bug this year?  We lucked out pretty well last year, I guess you are right Blitz, its catching up to us.

Ben should go if he can
Every game from here on out is a must win. We don't need a rusty Ben game vs. Denver. Maybe you pull him earlier than usual if we get a lead but he should be out there if he's medically cleared and feels ok.

Playing Big Ben Would Be a Big Mistake
There's absolutely no reason Roethlisbeger should be playing against Oakland. If Roethlisberger plays and gets hurt again, it could be disasterous. It could jeopardize his career -- far more important than jeopardizing this season.

Pittsburgh should be able to beat the Raiders with Charlie Batch. Even if they don't, with Cincy and Baltimore underperforming, should either of them lose again, Pittsburgh would still have a chance at the division.
