One Quick Thought Before Bed...
Who here can't wait for football to start? Well, it's not just us. This past Sunday's Hall of Fame Game (and i use the term game quite loosely here; more like glorified scrimmage) between the Raiders and Eagles was watched by an astounding number of viewers . The ratings were comparable to this year's NBA Finals, and the first two games of last year's World Series. Wow. A friggin' exhibition game rivaling the championship rounds of America's two other major sports. I love it. Bring on some football!

There's no doubt about it
And, in related news, the league appointed a competent new Commissioner today in Goodall to replace Tagliabue who quietly ran an extremely effective league and was essential in brokering a deal between the PA and the owners (and between the owners and themselves).
That's why the NFL is the most popular sport in America and will remain so; owners understand that a rising tide really does raise all boats and that whatever excites the fans will incite them to watch and invest financially in a team. The NFL is unique in its salary cap system that imposes parity unmatched in the sports world.
Go NFL.
