Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Open Thread
First place in the AFC North is at stake, and the Browns are in town. Sounds weird saying that, but there's no denying Cleveland's an improved team over the last several years.
We've gone over the keys to the game and discussed how the Steelers might go about trying to break down Cleveland on both sides of the ball. Nothing left to do but get out your Terrible Towel and enjoy what I hope will be a great game for Big Ben and the Steelers. Use this thread to talk shop with yinzers. Head here for perspective from Browns fans.
Go Steelers!

Bruce Arians
Great second-half by both units, despite the offensive play-calling. ST is going to ruin the season - watch.

Definitely
He did have some poor throws (Ward did save on one absolutely beautiful first-down grab), but Hines, Santonio, and Spaeth all had some big drops today.

Oh, and sign
If either Cleveland or Baltimore ties the Steelers at the end of the season, the Steelers win the division on tiebreakers.

hehe
And yes, we should feel proud about this one considering the roll Cleveland was on. If you look at the Brownies schedule, it sets up pretty nicely for them to still maybe get a Wild Card.
Next week at Baltimore should tell the story. Win and they've got Houston, Arizona, NYJ, Buffalo, Cincy, and SF remaining. That's just one game against a team with a winning record. Reminds me a lot of the Jets last year.
Jacksonville still has games left against SD, Pittsburgh, and Indy.
Tennessee has games left against at Denver, San Diego, and at Indy.
And Buffalo has games left against NE, at Jacksonville, at Washington, NYG, and at Philly.
So in my mind, the Browns are very much still in the playoff hunt.

A huge win
I didn't see this game on TV so I have to rely on play-by-play, highlights, stats and, most importantly, observations by our insightful fans and posters. It seems like we did our best to give this game away: A KO return for a TD and two other red zone gifts, a long return and a pick, that the Browns turned into TDs. We went 0-3 on red zone possessions in the first half, so that 21-9 halftime deficit was a worst-case scenario based on the play on the field.
The defense must have really cranked it up in the second half, perhaps with Anderson's inexperience also being a contributing factor. Adding up the yards from play by play, I think the Browns had one net yard of offense in the second half before starting their final drive.
Despite the adversity the Steelers created for themselves, they showed their true colors in the second half and ended up dominating the game statistically in TOP and Net Yards. It really was a top-class comeback and only a couple of QBs in the league could have pulled it off. A 30-yard QB scramble for a TD in the fourth quarter of a desperate comeback just doesn't happen very often. It should give us a lot of confidence going forward ... and a good healthy scare that might keep us out of similar holes in the future.
Onward and upward.
