Haynes Resigned

There's nothing new or huge to report, but as of today, the Steelers resigned RB Verron Haynes to a one-year contract.  Note he has a 4.2 ypc average but we all know he hardly sees time.  I like the depth he adds and his familiarity with the team and the players obviously pays off.  Given more opportunities he might improve but we all known he's best used sparingly.  Nice to have him back though, i've always liked him.  Link here:

I'm suprised
that they actually resigned him.  I've always like him, but I guessed that Davenport and Barlow spelled too many backs.  One of these guys will have to be cut by the end of training camp right?  Surely they won't carry 4 RB's into the season.

Yeah
You're are probably right, unless they know something we don't.  Am I wrong or did we need depth at FB?  Krieder get hurt or something?  Wasn't he hurt at the end of last year, or am I just spazzing?  I heard that Kuhn is trying his had at FB to get some reps.  I like him too but can't see him staying on the team.

Maybe Haynes is signing as a backup FB
With few other options and Haynes already being familiar w/ the playbook, I would assume he could step in there if needed.  He never had much speed to begin w/ and a knee injury won't help.

I wouldn't count Haynes out
He's still the blocking back on the team and with how bad our pass protection was last year having a back that can hold off a linebacker is not a bad idea
