All things considered....

I think it was a great season, a great last game, think of all our injuries and inconsistent play on the line, and we still made the best comeback in NFL History in a playoff game.  Great year for a first year coach, but here's my beef.

Did anyone else things that the Jacksonville Jaguars are a dirty team?  How about why Hines Ward was so pissed, anyone catch that #25 trying to twist his knee after the tackle, or that guy that kicked big ben in the helmet at the bottom of the pile.  IT was ugly and the refs did nothing.  look for the Silverback to unleash the beast on them next season.  BIGTIME!

dirty or not
I thought both teams were talking a bit much for my taste. I really started noticing around the NE game how much the Steelers liked to 'jaw' at the opposing team, especially on defense. I don't really think there's much wrong with talking as long as it doesn't lead to a penalty but I do think it shows a lack of class.

I hope that's one area that Tomlin emphasizes in the upcoming season.

Time to take the training wheels off this offense.

I agree...
This season was a success all things considered. You look around the league at how the other rookie head coaches did and we ended up with gold in Tomlin (and I am not just considering W-L

ATL - Petrino quits on his team 13 games in
MIA - C.Cameron was fired after a 1-15 season, a year after Saban quit 1 year in.
ARI - I'll give Whiz a bit of a pass since he has a lot of work to do in ARI.
DAL - W. Philips has had more success up to this point. We'll see how the playoffs go.
SD - Turner inherited a 14-2 team thought to be the most talented in the league, and by all accounts underachieved this year.
OAK - L. Kiffin looked to be getting things turned around until his owner overruled his decision to fire the Def. Coordinator. Now there seems to be turmoil inside the front office.

With the possible exception of DAL, I say Tomlin's first year was very successful, and has me excited about his (and the Steelers) future.

Re: Turner
I have trouble saying he "underachieved." He definitely started the season badly at 1-3, but then ended the season at 10-2 in the last 12 games.

There were definitely some transition issues, but the Chargers now look almost as good as they did last year, they're still in the playoffs and they have a decent chance of going further, given that they already beat Indy once this year.

SD
I understand they got on a hell of a run after a really bad start and it's impressive anytime a team goes 10-2 in a 12 game stretch but if you look at it they had a pretty easy schedule (partly b/c the AFC West was a joke this year). 9 of the 12 games were against non playoff teams and the other three were:

Indy (got 6 picks but still barely won b/c Indy missed a 29 yd FG)
JAC (lost 17-24)
TEN (won 23-17)

They're really good on defense but their offense leaves alot to be desired and they are another team we should thank for passing on Big Ben.

Time to take the training wheels off this offense.
