Has anyone else seen Troy's commercial?

Man, I always thought last year's Nike commercial with Tomlinson and Merriman was pretty sweet, but they have put a new one out this year that, at least from my biased point of view, is even better.  Has anyone seen it?  It shows Troy and LT in a timeline of the two of them growing up, from peewee to their USC/TCU days.  Then at the end, they meet in a game and a tackle.  Its pretty frickin sweet and its awesome to see Troy getting some ad time.  Its great, because in the ad, he makes the tackle and just pops up to head back to the huddle like usual.  The thing I love about Troy is his work ethic.  The guy just plays football.  No flash celebrations, no screaming or taunting for making a tackle.  Sure, he gets hyped up every now and then and shows emotion rarely.  But this guy is all Steeler.

Classic Ark!

Saw that today while actually watching football, not gripping through another Steelers “root canal”
Great that 43 gets some $$$! He deserves it. And another ring.

great stuff

that song is called “Ecstasy of Gold”…Metallica does a version of it on their S&M album. The song from last years commercial with Merriman and S-Jax was a parody of the theme from “Last of the Mohicans”, in case anyone was wondering.

totally forgot

it was Jackson not LT in last years commercial.

The music’s from “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”,…….the very last scene when Tuco finds the cemetry where the gold is buried. My favorite movie. Great commercial too.

That was cool. Troy is a star. Though he might never see it since he “doesn’t own a TV”. I don’t know I heard that somewhere.

What a great hair cut

It looks even better in the commercial. I wish I had hair like that.

It's sweet

If I’m honest, I think last year’s was better when they played the whole thing. The cello thing was just great. The main problem with the one last year was that is ended with Jackson pushing like 7 Steelers to the goal line. This one’s sweet cause Troy stops Tomlinson, although you could argue it’ just because Tomlinson’s toe is injured. Speaking of which, am I the only one who thinks Tomlinson is quickly approaching the Cliff of Despair for running backs? I think it’s very possible that we’ll never see the old Tomlinson again.

Yeah, that commercial last year was gay. Stephen Jackson does NOTHING against the Steelers and they show him pushing 7 Steelers to the goal line, what a freaking joke.

The Hair

My and friends and I were talking about the hair in the commercial. When he runs out with USC, is that video footage from his college days, or did they make him wear a USC jersy and run out for the commercial? Because his hair at USC was shorter ( http://www.fansedge.com/Images/Product/33-53/33-53252-F.jpg ) , but I couldn’t tell from the commercial

well it’s decently shorter in the commercial, but I think they probably rigged it that way. Although I don’t think it would be too hard to get footage of him at USC.

Tomlinson

Well, it’s possible that LT will never be as good as early in his career. But, I hope not, because I’d like to see someone break Emmitt Smith’s record. We’ll see, I guess.

Ladanian

We’ll see the old Tomlinson,

just not the young one….

Evening act is completely different than the matinee folks!

Ecstasy of Gold from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly – the best.

Ever. Unless of course your referring to The Pittsburgh Steelers and Troy. It really just doesn’t get any better than that.

Sweet commercial...

good that people want to put Troy in their commercials

by PsycoSalameh on Oct 13, 2008 1:53 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah

That was a great commercial. I like LT, and obviously, I love Troy, so I liked how they got up and LT congratulated him, then they just went back the towards the huddle. And, of course the music from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is some of the best ever in a movie.
