Browns-Giants Monday Night Football Open Thread
I'm going to tune in to some of this one, so if there's anyone around the site, join me for some MNF fun. Is tonight the night we see Brady Quinn? I don't think so, as I think we'll see Cleveland keep this one close enough to not warrant any sort of switch at QB.

oh lord
Kornheiser just said nobody thinks Rivers or Roethlisberger is better than Eli Manning and that Eli might be better than Peyton. Haha. Jeez.
I heard that
It’s not like I could like kornholer any less already…
"It was an attrition football game and you know we like that."
Ha Haa
IF the clowns win tonight, it will just delay the inevitable QB switch. Nothing like false hope.
interesting
We know that the Giants can get to the QB, but the question they haven’t had to answer yet this season is what if they don’t? Well, the Browns have a decent OL and a QB who rarely holds onto the ball for more than 3 seconds, so this is a good test for them, and we’re seeing how weak they are in coverage.
Not that this is going to help us out (we’re the anti-Browns on offense) when we play the Giants, but it’s still interesting. Also, I love Eli throwing 2 picks and Manning lighting up the best defense in the NFL the week after TMQ declared Eli better than Peyton based on his performances against the Rams and Seahawks. What an idiot.

2nd TE
Was very impressed with this dude named Robert Hayden. Blocked on Justin Tuck nicely at times and caught I believe 6 ot 7 passes. Protected the ball, fell forward for yards. Impressive performane by him. They didnt miss a beat without their ‘soldier’.

Who the heck is Robert Hayden? Did you mean Steve Heiden, or is that an inside joke, lol?

lol
Hey he’s a frigging 2dn string TE for the Browns. You can’t expect me to remember that honestly can you?

Heh…I remember the Steelers’ backup tight ends.
And you should remember Heiden since he was our starting tight end for about two seasons not too long ago. ;)

you're a better man than I
Hey, you did win the inaugural BTSC Pick Em Challenge. Knowing your opponents backup TEs can pay off :)

Odd story: I started paying attention to backup tight ends when Rickey Dudley scored a touchdown or two out of no where for the Browns several years ago. In my first fantasy football draft ever, I stupidly drafted him. I later dropped him, but then started paying attention to other team’s backup tight ends who tended to have a game or two a year where they may flourish.

Has there been something in the air this weekend? This game is a perfect example of how much unpredictibility exists game by game each weekend.
As the amount of film piles up on each team, weaknesses are being exposed and taken advantage of.

hehe
This is part of why I thought Browns would win. Just makes sense given all the other crazyness.

Did you ever feel vindicated
Last week I asked if the Browns sucked- and was alone in answering that, No I did not think they sucked.
I also had a conversation with my uncle on Friday saying that I really thought the market had hit bottom and it was time to buy.
So sitting here Monday night after a 35-14 Browns victory and a thousand point rise in the stock market, feeling very wise. Wise and poor ( :
LOL
If I had extra money to put in the market we could talk about that problem.
But I had the feeling the Browns were, down, but not out.

Browns have to play the Redskins next week.
Should be a good game, Browns coming off highest high, while the ’Skins are coming off the lowest low.

thanks.
undoubtedly the Steelers have been the best team in the division so far. but it’s funny to think that if one 10-6 game had gone the other way, we’d be in first right now. just goes to show that 1) it’s still early, and 2) in sports it really is closer than meets the eye.
that said, it was a total must win and we would have been buried w/out it.
yup
This one keeps things interesting. If Browns win one of the next two, I think the’ll hang around for division or Wild Card possibility. Back-to back road Ls at WAS and JAX, granted two good teams but still, would make things tough at 2-5.
And yes you’re right, it’s a micro-thin line in this league. Browns have used up some of their margin for error, but not all :)
