Hines Ward Rocks Another Opponent
Hines Ward says hello to Bengals rookie LB Keith Rivers. May there be many more pleasantries exchanged before Hines calls it a career!

I watch this video every time I come across it, cgolden’s and on the main page. This thing is everywhere, and it’s still entertaining. Probably one of the best I’ve seen from 86, and that’s saying something. Too bad Rivers is out for the season though.
Agree
Always sad to see a talented young player get injured. But it was a clean and beautiful hit. I didn’t like seeing Mendenhall go down, but I have to respect Lewis. The guy is a baller.

Words of Praise
From two coaches, per the PPG
There are a lot of ways to describe Ward. I like Steelers coach Mike Tomlin’s version: “Hines plays the game the way it’s supposed to be played. … He’s a football player first and a wide receiver second.”
In the era of ego football, thems good things to be called.
Ward prefers former Ravens coach Brian Billick’s description: " ‘I hate the S.O.B., but I’d love to have him on my team.’ "
And this just made me chuckle
“I’m a 200-pound wide receiver. [Rivers] is a first-round linebacker out of USC. If I were him, I wouldn’t want people talking about me being blocked like that. I’d be embarrassed about it.”
This crap is just too funny. And we think we have some issues with the refs…

My goodness
That’s too damn funny. No offense, I just don’t see how he’s trying to get out of the way. To me it looks like the guy just had a flashback and went for the hit. Which raises a meta-philosophical question? Can a referee flag himself?

Wow
That’s absurd. How about maybe fining the Ravens for announcing that they have a bounty on a player.

It will be the ultimate hypocrisy when (not if) The Rog neglects to fine or suspend Suggs for those comments. Bounties are against the rules, and players and coaches have been fined and suspended in the past for the same actions. If it’s truly about player safety, and not the money, like Goodell plays it, then a fine is 100% due.
