The Rog sends a white flag to Pittsburgh
ESPN article from James Walker
Interesting development here: Goodell sent a white flag of surrender in the war-of-words with the Pittsburgh organization, and had his VP of Football Ops sit down with Ward, Mr. Rooney, Coach Sunglasses and Troy to talk about the recent inflammatory comments, recent fines, and the new developments coming out of Terrell Suggs' mouth yesterday.
The best part to me was that they are committed to investigating the alleged bounties placed on Ward and Mendenhall (supposedly including the hit that took Mendenhall out for the year) and I would not be surprised to see them take action if they can find any evidence to support the notion. Evidence other than Suggs' own words, I guess.

and other than
the nationally broadcast comments of Ray Lewis in the pre-game, something to the effect of “you find that man and take it from him.”

Do you know the exact quote? In one context, he could be talking about the football, and that’s not a bounty, thats just getting fired up.
I never thought I would defend Ray Lewis, so I’ll just stop there.
Guns don't kill people. Lamar Woodley kills people.

the beginning part to the quote you are looking for
“If someone finds the evidence that could convict me for murder…”
“…you find that man and take it from him.”
Nothing to do with football TMVT, sorry. ;)

LOL.
awesome. I don’t know the exact quote I remember it from the game and the announcers even mentioned how (they assumed) it was about Mendenhall. The announcers tried to sugar coat it of course and say he’s just firing his guys up to play hard, but maybe he was just officially stating the dollar terms of the bounty. I can’t wait for Mendy to be back next year and blow Ray Ray over.

Carey Davis
Nobody seemed to be interested that Ray Ray was the one that knocked out Carey Davis too! I TiVo the games and was able to watch that one a couple times over. Lewis catches Carey from behind and gives him a good ‘ol horsecollar tackle at the neck/jersey and pulls down with his weight to make the tackle. I haven’t heard anyone mention this or ask the league if Lewis was fined for it. These kind of tackles get missed all the time when they are in the interior of the line, so I imagine that is why it was missed this time.
I know it sounds all "sour grapes’ and all, but you’d think the league would fine for that (at least the Steelers would send in tape of it) if they can fine Hines for a play (AND HE/WE STILL HAVEN’T HEARD WHICH PLAY!)
