Greetings from Brasil

How are we gonna keep Nate? Well, I think we should give him a 3-year contract, he is the one who spreads the defense.

And dont you think for today would be good a 2-TE set and give Miller some freedom, all passes to him he did well!

niiiiiiiiiice

so glad hes concerned about wrapping up the ball.

but theyre tainting whats been an otherwise DOMINANT performance by our line

by Michael Bean on Oct 26, 2008 6:31 PM EDT reply actions

Chris K

Should really work on his feet and vision, he always seems lost on pass protection, but is a beast, working on him he ould become a baby Larry Allen!

by SteelerBrazil on Oct 26, 2008 6:31 PM EDT reply actions

yeah

he does seem to do a bit better when he just looks forwrad and runs downhill

by Michael Bean on Oct 26, 2008 6:32 PM EDT up reply actions

Is Nate Washington

Capable of being 20 yards open on every play? I am just saying…..

by SteelerBuddha on Oct 26, 2008 6:32 PM EDT reply actions

Alright all I have to say so far is wow

Damn good game so far.

Also, did anyone else hear Ben take control of Hines after the penalty? Beautiful!

by Romain El 82 on Oct 26, 2008 6:33 PM EDT reply actions

Nate is a burner

But the best CBs can shut him down easily on long routes, but the short routes I cant trust him!

by SteelerBrazil on Oct 26, 2008 6:34 PM EDT reply actions

even though this drive stalled

it was still pretty impressive and it was also very helpful for field postion and TOP. 3 and out for D and we should get it back in good postion. Huge series coming up

by Michael Bean on Oct 26, 2008 6:34 PM EDT reply actions

great field position

especially after the penalty on the Giants

by Alba on Oct 26, 2008 6:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Much better rhythmn

I like what I saw out of our guys, but there is no question that they cheated themselves out of a score on that drive. We were inside the 40 and ended up going way back. That’s not smart football.

BTW no offense to Greg Warren

But how the hell is long snapper a position on a football team?

by SteelerBuddha on Oct 26, 2008 6:43 PM EDT reply actions

lol

well, think about it. those balls get snapped like35 mph and often times, punts dont get blocked by just a fraction of a second. anything but a perfect snap and….

by Michael Bean on Oct 26, 2008 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

careful now

next thing, you’ll be asking whether punters and kickers are real football players too

by Alba on Oct 26, 2008 6:44 PM EDT up reply actions

i think others here have asked the same question

which led to a great thread about the ins and outs of long snapping. turns out it takes a helluva lot of skill and its worth keeping a guy to do that full time.

Blitz

As good as the team has looked, it has not looked fluent on offense, even when playing well. Mental mistakes are killing us. We twice put ourselves out of field goal range. This game could be done

by SteelerBuddha on Oct 26, 2008 6:51 PM EDT reply actions

well no doubt now

this second half has been mired by penalties. wasnt the case in first half. doesnt really matter though. we’re doing enough and the D’s too good. my theme for the past couple of weeks is to just do enough on O, which it has.

Is the training team to blame for all these injuries? Honestly, NO team should EVER have as many injuries in a SEASON, let alone what we’ve had in this GAME.

by Hines Ward on Oct 26, 2008 6:55 PM EDT reply actions

just luck

Titans havent had any. We’ve had lots. No explanation at all for it

by Michael Bean on Oct 26, 2008 6:56 PM EDT up reply actions

that's not true, it's just bad luck

last year the Bills were decimated by injuries. Patriots only went 16-0 bc they were lucky on the injury front.

Implosion

Two possessions in their territory with a 5 point lead, killed by bonehead penalties (thanks, Chris K) and poor playcalling (three straight runs to the right. Thanks, Bruce.). Don’t get too discouraged by this. This game was ours, and mental errors lost it for us.

Hypocrisy

We yell when Ben throws quick (to Hines on that horrid 4th down play) and we yell when Ben waits for downfield throws.

Nonetheless, HORRIBLE playcalling by B.A. this 4th quarter. HORRIBLE.

Also

Not having Santonio really, really hurts. I’m sorry, but Limas doesn’t know the ins and outs yet, and Dallas Baker can only take you so far.

Does anybody think?

Santonio made a huge mistake and maybe cost our loss today?

Ben the Diva

Just got finished watching a good game by the defense but it looked to me like Ariens, Rothlisberger and Tomlin have to shoulder much of the blame for this loss.

Ben, don’t take the sack, throw it away – but not to the other team.
Bruce, who was calling the 4Q plays?
Mike, your team penalized itself out of a win!

We’ll get ’em on Monday Night, as always! Go Steelers!

Ah Well

If we rematch later in the year (meaning the Super Bowl), I think we’ve got them. We beat ourselve with mental mistakes.

better team won today

no offense. too many penalties, too many injuries. let’s get healthy and maybe we’ll see the Giants again in January

mental mistakes

at home?

Imagine at Jersey! This OL is not a super bowl OL! I think we kinda underrated Jeff Hartings, since his retirement the OL was not the same!

Some of those sacks are credited to Ben, no matter what shows up in the stats. He was very off today. He is prone to these kinds of games.

this loss is attributed to our retarted QB thinking he has 10 fucking seconds to pass it and horrible coaching, you dont go for it on the 34. 51 yards isnt that long of field goal, you dont throw it 50 yards on 4th and 14, and you dont all out blitz every 3rd down when the other team is passing in the middle of the field every fucking play

hey guys

great game today. I know losing like that sucks, but you guys are a great team, and I for one will not be at all surprised to see the Steelers playing in Tampa come Feb 1. Good luck the rest of the season, hopefully we can meet again!

indeed

I think that game definitely goes the other way if not for that drive that got about 50 yards of penalties… Enough what ifs, though – congrats to your team for a good hard-fought win!

Big Ben

looks like Allen Iverson!

When we win , is because Ben was a warrior, and played great despite the sacks, but with a loss, he holds the ball too long,…

Well, I prefer him than all qbs not named Peyton, Tom or Drew
