Great Story on Former Steeler, Gabe Rivera
Rose touched on Rivera's brief but memorable career with the Steelers in a past story, but here's an update for those interested. Rivera was an All-American at Texas Tech and with Tech about to play the biggest game in the universities history, what better time for a good human-interest story.

As if this man hasn't lived with enough burden
He was also the guy we took in 1983 instead of Dan Marino. It was down to those two. The team liked Cliff Stoudt and banked on him replacing Bradshaw. Stoudt was indeed Bradshaw’s replacement in 1983 when he was sacked more times than any Steelers quarterback in history. The record still stands (53) though Ben is ahead of pace this year. Rivera has lived all these years hearing, thinking and knowing that we practically flipped a coin to get him over Dan Marino.
