Can Mewelde Fill In???
We, as Steelers fans are faced with a tough question...Can Mewelde Moore fill in as the starter at running back??? I cant really decide whether he will get less than 50 yards, or he will have a 100+ yard game. It's obvious that this kid's got talent, especially on third downs, but what will he be like running the ball constantly??? I mean, we cant win by JUST passing the ball. We either have to completely shut-down this Jaguars offense, and hopefully their defense will be ripped apart like presents on Christmas. Or we can try to run the ball consistently enough so that the defense should bite on the play-action, and leave a wide-receiver open. Now honestly, which option seems more realistic???
Thoughts?

Moore will step up
If the steelers control the line of scrimmage several players could have big games. Though I am not at all familiar with Moore, the impression I get is that he is a player and capable of producing. Many here on this site sang his praises when he inked with the squad. If he contributes to a win, it reflect favorably on Tomlin’s roster management. I’ve got a hunch he steps up: 21 carries for 79yards, 3 rec’s for 42yards.

Russell
I think Gary Russell should be getting a good chunk of the running on first and second down. Get Moore in there on 3rd downs and in the passing game. He’s like an extra wideout out there if we choose to use him that way.

I think either way our run game is going to be better than everyone expects. It’s not like we get much traction against the jags anyhow, so even if Russell and Moore fail it will be business as usual.

Wow. I just rewatched that long catch and run by Moore. While Ben was scrambling he went through his progressions and then looked straight at Moore in the center. It looked like there was actually communication and Moore was right where he needed to be. Can’t wait to see that tonight.
