Adopted Steelers
Tell us about your adopted player if you have the time to do so.
Guys I'm interested in hearing about are D Stapleton, Justin Hartwig, Nate Washington, James Farrior, Deshea, and a few others that aren't coming to mind this second.
Jump on in with reports on any if you don't see people filling in the blanks.

I haven’t had anything to say about my adopted Steeler because he’s done nothing, but he had a really solid game blocking last night. You can’t run outside if your TE’s don’t win their battles, and he definitely did that. He got in the way of defenders and helped spring that big run on Moore’s first carry, and had a few other solid blocks to spring outside running plays. IIRC, they tried to throw to him twice with no completions, but he was in traffic both times. I’d have liked to see him make on of those plays, but for the game I’d give him a B.

We shipped his ass back to Tampa Bay…I have lost track of his useless ass since.

Proud of my boy!
From the Tomlin thread, just wanted it in the correct spot!
“I’ve read that for parents of adopted children, there comes a point where the "adopted" ceases to matter, and the child is thought of just as a birth child would. For my adopted Steeler, one Mewelde Moore, that moment came Sunday night as he showed exactly why Coach T brought him into the fold, and then some. One of my best friends is a lifetime Vikes fan, and was nearly sick when the Vikes let MM go. It is apparent that he has a huge heart, and has earned a special place in the hearts of Nation members, as his contributions the last two weeks have directly contributed to wins over two of our most hated rivals. For all who watched last night, Mewelde meant nothing but business from the time he took the field. He showed a good burst, made quite a few tacklers miss, and held onto the ball. When asked to block, he seemed to make the correct pickups. Falling short on the third down catch, when he appeared to have enough space to convert, is the only negative play I saw from him. All told, an A+ performance when we needed it most!! A father has never been prouder!”

Farrior
I’ve been quiet on the subject of Farrior so far, because well frankly… He hasn’t been living up to my expectations for him. The past few games he has been less steady than usual, missing key tackles and occasionally getting exposed in coverage. For a while I actually was thinking that we may see Timmons take Potsy’s place before Foote.
I’m happy to say that in this game though he brought his ‘A’ game and looked fantastic. I was truly impressed with his play yesterday. He was never over-exposed in coverage. And was all over the ball carriers. It was hard to tell what all was happening in the scrums when the Jags ran the ball. But he was in there pounding away.
All in all this was Farrior’s best game this season. Hopefully he keeps up this level of production.

"If you hit .440 with 20 bombs, you don't have to do s---. You don't have to bring a glove to practice, just hit and leave whenever you want. You can bring a 40 and smoke a cigarette and call me from the parking lot asking me what time the game is, and I'll tell you. You can even say 'F--- you, Steve!' Actually, don't say that, that wouldn't be very nice." -Steve Friend, Head Coach, Chabot College Gladiators Baseball

Woodley
I wasn’t able to see a couple of the games this year, because they weren’t on in my area, but it looks like Woodley has been so visible that it’s been impossible for others not to notice his play. He’s been outstanding so far this year in replacing Haggans. 5.5 sacks through 5 games, for a 2nd year player (first year starter), is just fantastic! The MNF and SNF games that I’ve been able to see, it looks like he always in position, whether it’s rushing the passer or dropping into coverage. The only time that I really saw him make a mistake (and it was pretty slight) was in the Ravens game, I believe. He was rushing the passer then, just a split second too late, realized that the RB was passing him, and he should cover him. The pass was right on time, but if he had read it slightly earlier, it may have been an interception. That was a third and about 8, I think, and ended up going for a first down. So, basically, what everyone has said is the case. He’s been outstanding rushing the passer, and he is already close to being there on pass coverage. Also, from what I remember, he’s been solid holding the blocker at the point of attack in the running game.

Clark
I already posted about Clark in a different forum. But what the hell. How can a proud father not brag.
I know he had a huge mistake in the Jacksonville game with the Penalty, but apart from that I think he has been playing lights out. His hits are taking on a Troy quality. I think one of the big things that distinguishes a decent team from a great team is quality safety play. We saw that for both the Patriots and the Colts over the past couple years. When their pro-bowl safeties are playing well, they have brutal defenses – when they aren’t they look a whole softer.
Troy has been Troy – impossible to miss this season. But I think Clark has been both solid and ferocious – and is making his impact felt. He is 3rd on the team with 27 Tackles, he has not given up any long plays (Anthony Smith anyone?) and he is everywhere in run support.

The safety is 3rd in tackles? On most teams that would be a very bad sign, but not for Lebeau.

FWP
Willie last seen joking with one of the assistants on the sidelines wearing a t-shirt a healing hisself for the long season.
He didn’t appear to be moping watching MM do the business for him.
Looking forward to his return to the field, as I’m anxious to see how he runs behind the new-look o-line.
Some of the earlier games I saw before FWP was injured he had great success outside the tackles, or running behind a pulling Kemoeatu. I have been less impressed with the running up the gut.
I’m not sure if it was the porosity of the line, or the new zone blocking scheme, but he’s getting caught at the line or behind it while seeming to wait for an opening. Whatever the case this part of his game is a thing to watch.
