New Blog: Sounder At Heart for Seattle Sounders Fans!

the last 3 weeks........

ben has less touchdown passes than a guy named sean hill.

ben has as many interceptions as peyton manning does all season.

ben has one less loss than joe flacco does all season.

ben has as many victories as the steelers quarterback as his future boss at mcdonalds.

on the season ben has almost as many interceptions as the manning brothers do combined.

what are you waiting for coach?? the season and the franchise depends on you making the move to take ben out of there.  do it for your team.  bench ben now!

Cannot play with that. Cannot win with that. Cannot post on the blog with that. Can’t do it.

Yes

Lets go back to those Kordell Stewert and Tommy Maddox Days. Great regular season records while never winning the big game.

All Ben has done in his first 4+ years is break records left and right and because of a bad 4 game stretch he should be benched.

What would of happened if the Colts Benched Manning when he was even more reckless with the ball his first FIVE years in the NFL?

A capital letter is as easy as a shift key

Ben’s rookie season was the best ever for a rookie QB; some say that’s due to a veteran team around him and a dominant running game/line. If that’s the case, why is it a record? Why had it never happened previously and why has it not happened since?

Ben’s Super Bowl appearance was bad. But the games on the road leading to the playoffs, and the playoffs themselves up until XL were games Ben more than just "managed"; he carried the team from time to time. Cowher had TONS of playoff appearances, but couldn’t get a Lombardi trophy back to Pittsburgh until he had Ben under center.

Sometimes Brett Favre will go out there and throw 5 touchdowns; sometimes he’ll go out there and throw 6 interceptions. Do you bench him after the 6 INT game, or do you put him back there knowing that there’s a shot he’ll dial up a winner?

Beerman, I’ve got say with all honesty that you’ve grown quite obnoxious. I’m not saying to leave Ben alone or to hold back criticisms, but understand that there TEAM elements going on in a lot of these losses … not just QB issues. The band Wings sucked, but that doesn’t mean Paul McCartney sucked; he was just the most obvious face in front of a losing team effort.

If Ben’s not healthy enough to play this week, rest him up, and I fully support resting him against Cinci the following week as there’s a pretty tough stretch following that game, but you seem to be a panic artist and a quitter. I don’t usually agree with Peter King, but he recommended Tomlin meeting with Ben and honestly asking him if he’s healthy enough to play, and letting him know that if he lies to him, he’ll never forget it. Maybe resting Ben against San Diego and allowing him to get back in the groove against a pretty weak Bengals team would be a decent approach. But look man, did you see how much attention the potential of a perfect season has received in recent years? That’s because it DOESN’T happen! I believe you’re at most an early 20-something, and have been involved in football only since this ‘win now’ attitude took over … where were you even as recently as the 80s when the Steelers seemed like a Pop Warner team going up against the Oilers, Bengals, and Browns? There are losses every year. Pittsburgh will win the division again this year.

Appreciate the good. Accept the losses. Did you ever play football? I think most on this board never made it beyond the high school level, but I think a few played in college. If you played, you know that no game was ever won or lost wholly because of you. Look at Woodley’s sacks; does he have the same number without Harrison on the other side? A team functions as an exercise in symbiosis. Understand that you win as a team, and lose as a team.

This blog and message board are like a football team, in that it’s going to take a lot more than your losing attitude to bring it down.

Thank you.

The usual, through high school. By the end everyone was improving and I had hit a plateau. First two years played linebacker, second two years got moved to tight end … blocking, not receiving. We lost a lot more than we won, but it was good, good times out there.

Beerman go away please

I WILL say this, you actually did provide us with stats this time.

However, YOU ARE LOOKING AT THREE CENSORED GAMES!!!!!!!

THREE!!!!!

A season is 16 games long.

Pittsburgh has yet to post a below 500 season since the Arrival of Mr. Roethlisberger.

If your damn empty head can remember, what was our record in 2003? 6-10 I believe.

So we’ve gone from 6-10, to….
16-2
15-5 and a ring
8-8
10-7
6-3

Thats 55-25
Get a clue.
