That didn't take long Ricardo!

RIcardo Colclough, a one time 2nd round draft pick of ours, was picked up by the Kansas City Chiefs recently. While perusing some of the recaps, this!

Lance Moore had eight catches for 102 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown strike when he got behind Ricardo Colclough on the Saints' second play of the third quarter.

Colclough was one of several unemployed players the Chiefs signed two weeks ago to shore up their injury-wrecked defense.

"It was a slant and go. Lance did a great job of selling it and the corner bit," Brees said. "The second play of the second half really set the tempo for what we were going to do."

Brees can make good corners look bad, but ay yi yi, poor guy. Wonder what he does to garner more opportunities. Must be a workout warrior of sorts. Or whatever the DB version of that is.

This has nothing to do with Blitz’s post above, but for anyone watching MNF: Trent Edwards is a gutless QB, playing for a gutless team. Just a pathetic offensive performance.

MNF

As I said in the playoff post, it’s in the Steelers best interest that every team in the East lose as many games as possible, but I was also glad to see the Browns look unimpressive. After Edwards threw 3 piss poor picks, the Bills didn’t play that poorly and the Browns didn’t do anything very well.

Good ole Ricardo

For being a team that prides itself on scouting and drafting, the Steelers sure blew a second rd pick on that waste of a uniform. When Ricardo was with the Steelers he looked to me like a track star who had never played football in his life.

just awful

Two years ago on Halloween I found a random photo with some guy wearing a Colclough jersey waaay in the background. Asked what stood out about the picture. Took someone two seconds to say ’Someone has a colclough jersey!!!??!!

LOL

All this talk makes appreciate Mike Tomlin and pretty much every corner he puts on the field. William Gay looked good out there this past week.

You win some and lose some

Ricardo never did live up to expectations. He was part of the reason we had a lousy pass defense for a while and only defended the Run ala minnesota style.

But hey weve moved on and found better deals down the line.

Hear, hear.

Guns don't kill people. Lamar Woodley kills people.

Amen!

Yeah I mean not EVERY draft pick is gonna be a Tom Brady…

I still believe that some of the best players go undrafted and in the right systems can be the best out there.

Look at Harrison, FWP, Kurt Warner, just to name a few. Granted these finds are rare, but I believe only because few of these players are given the chance.

Amazingly...

..Colclough was one of the few premium draft picks alloted to Dick Lebeau over the past five years. The only others in the first day picks were Anthony Smith, Lawrence Timmons, and Lamar Woodley, as far as I remember. Only Woodley is a regular.

Over the same time frame the offense has been beefed up with Roethlisberger, Starks, Miller, Essex, Holmes, Reid, Spaeth, Mendenhall, and Sweed, as first day picks.

Dont forget McFadden

B-Mac was a round 2 guy.

But yes most of the guys have been offensive lately.

And I dont expect that to change as the offense needs its line shored up. But Lebeau should totally get another DL due to the age factor on that line.
