Chad Johnson is deactivated.
Just read it on ESPN. Some kinds of unreported rules violation. This should definitely help out second-time starter William Gay. Instead of having to cover Housh the whole game, now Ike Taylor gets to statistically eliminate him from the game.
On a side note, I just landed a last-minute ticket to the game. The Steelers are 3-0 at the only other games I have been able to attend. Not that we need another good luck charm for this game, just thought it couldn't hurt..

Seriously?
No excuse for not absolutely dominating the field tonight. There is no “every game is a tough game” excuse. What do I want from tonight, what will I be satisfied with?
1) 30+ points, by the end of the third quarter. No excuses for not running all over the bengals.
2) A shutout by the defense. 0 points, first of the season by the unit. They have every ability to do that this game, and they should do it.
I ask a lot as a fan, but only what I know this team can deliver.

Unfortunately
Chris Henry steps up behind him, and he has had some retarded games against the Steelers in the last couple of years:
Week 3, 2006: 5 rec / 69 yds / 2 td
Week 17, 2006: 4 / 124 / 1
Week 13, 2005: 5 / 52 / 0
Granted, those are cherry picked games, but for his whole career against the Steelers, he’s played 6 games, torched us twice (once for 124 yds, once for 2 tds), been middling twice, and was either shut out or shut down twice.
Career line vs. Steelers: 19 catches for 320 yards, 16.8 yards/catch, 3 td.
Avg game against the Steelers: 3 catches, 53 yards, 1/2 TD
Hidden stat: In all of those 6 games, Ocho Cinco and Houshyomamma started in front of Henry, meaning Henry has done all of that as the 3 WR. He’s got a good chance of stepping up tonight.

I don’t know, Henry has had a pretty awful season. I expect Ike to shut down TJ and willie to get some help with henry, but I’m optimistic he won’t need it.
I still expect a shut-out, nothing else will satisfy me (maybe 10 sacks, 2 FF, and 3 INT)

Yeah But...
I’m guessing that most or all those games were played with Palmer making the throws, not Fitz.
Let's Go!

Not to mention
Normally, in this situation Henry faces our third CB. But even as the #2 receiver, he will face our #4 CB in Gay because of injuries. I think Henry has a big game, but mostly in garbage time after the Steelers have put the game away.

Ridiculous
I just changed my plans for the day. I live in ATL, I was going to watch the Steelers, but instead I am going to see the Penguins play the Thrashers bedcause this game is becoming a joke. Heath Miller might be back and No-go Stinko is out. Not to mention that in place of three injured lineman the Bengals have decided to install a turnstile on the left side of the line.
This game will not be exciting if it is a blowout because it is what we all expect. If for some reason it’s close, or, dare I say, a loss, it will be incredibly painful. Since I can garner little pleasure from this game either way, I’m going down to go scalp some $10 Thrashers tickets from some guy at the train station to see a game that might be more exciting.
Note: I usually would not miss a Steelers game other than for a chance to see the Pens or Pirates in person.

Skipping a steelers game to watch the pirates play is a tragedy.

Bengals
It seems unlike them to punish a player for something that they’ve done. Chris Henry has been one of the NFL’s biggest screw ups outside of PacMan Jones yet the Bengals keep bringing him back. I’m left to wonder what Johnson has done that would cause them to deactivate him.

"Unreported rules violation."
Given that it’s the Bengals we’re talking about, it’s likely equivalent to “he’s in jail right now.”

Ocho Stinko
The speculation around the internet is that he got himself into a fight with someone. Maybe they stole his future hall of fame jacket.

Hmmmm
http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20081120/SPT02/311200057
Seems like he slept through a meeting or something. Chris Henry could probably rape a cheerleader on the sidelines and they would put him in the next play. But they bench 85 for being late to a meeting?
Something is way wrong with that whole organization.

trade
The Bengals FO seems incompetent, but I bet they are lamenting not taking the 2 1st round picks offered by the Skins earlier in the year.

Seriously? That’s a helluva deal for a deadbeat.

Not to mention exactly what the bengals need to retool.

Woohoo for another reason to win
The Bengals are the most retardedly managed team in the AFC. Just ahead of the Raiders on that scale.
But who cares. They have no season left so they might as well try to install “discipline” now rather than later. Besides, Ocho Lame-o sucks, I hate em and he stanks!
Now Ike Taylor can cover the next in line, and watch as Ryan Fitzpatrick begs to break 120 yards tonight.
Oh im hard with excitement.

My Spanish isn't great...
..but I think Ocho might be due for a name and number change.

have to admit when we watch Ocho everyone says “what a dick” but with a smile because he makes you laugh and worry…i’d take him for the ravens. i don’t believe in locker room distractions. these dudes have $5million distractions the minute they leave the field. m-sat means shit if the guy goes nuts on sundays..my expensive ticket only covers sundays.

Maybe.
But we don’t roll like that.

I think 85 would get the hell beaten out of him in our locker room, even if he were wearing a steelers jersey. And Jeff Reed would be the one to do it.
