Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals - Open Thread

Kickoff is just around the corner. The game will be televised on NFL Network. You can watch a simulcast of the game online here. Join me and other Steelers fans here throughout the game and afterwards to talk about the action as it unfolds. Hopefully our offense breaks out, our defense shuts down what's left of the depleted Bengals offense, and we emerege victorious to improve to 8-3 with a 10-day rest awaiting.

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

Chirs Kirpatrick...

I don’t like how this is starting out

my main worry

Chris Henry giving William Gay fits. He’s a quick guy who has hurt us in the past. Meanwhile Gay, by all accounts, is a tremendously smart but athletically limited corner.

33 Yard Punt

Somewhere in America is a guy that can punt it 40 yards. Why aren’t we looking for him?

Ernster holds for Reed

Made sense to sign him. Not getting another guy in at some point is crazy though. Sign one to your practice squad and see if he can hold first.

two runs to start this drive. first fwp, then nate washington on the end around. only 4 yards total. so far, cinci seems to be stacking the box to stop the run.

… bringing extra men and daring ben to make an accurate quick throw. He’s done it twice – though nate dropped one.

Crazy Legs

Holmes on the return, Ward’s stumbling in a few, Polamalu’s interception last week, and this game tonight. Our guys are used to running on the worst field in the league. It’s a benefit at times, and a hinderance at others. I say it’s time to stop the gamble. I don’t necessarily want turf but serious improvements need to be made to shore up this field through the year. The way we play this game now it’s killing us. I agree with the sentiment above. Give Russell the rock. This is Bettis territory.
