Mitch Berger is old. He was a decent punter in his day. He was on the couch when the Steelers were convinced that Paul Ernster was not the answer to the "who can replace Sepulveda for one year?" question the Steelers FO was forced to answer during training camp.
Berger came in and kicked until both hamstrings were gone. A valiant effort that will not go unnoticed if the Steelers make some noise this year in the playoffs. Since I was an instant Ernster hater from day 1 (based on his first shank in game 1 2007 for Cleve) I am honored to announce Ernster's demise and the return of a rested and decrepit Mitch Berger! The FO made a brilliant move by cutting him, allowing him to heal and then bringing him back. Berger will give the Steelers a lot more than the 24 yard kicks Ernster did. Welcome back Mitch! Until the first shank!
