its dark out
the good news from the game on thursday is the steelers were able to win. the bad news is that they do not get to play the bengals for the rest of the season. if the steelers played like that against WPIAL champion TJ then they would have gotten beat. new england and dallas are our next 2 games. forget it. we won't win. they are playing unbelievable. the defense of course will slow those two teams down but that would mean ben having to outplay romo or even cassel. he isn't as good as them. then baltimore after that?? wow. they thoroughly wiped their butts with the eagles. of course they won't destroy the steelers but both defenses will play great. the question is which qb will make the big screw up to cost the game. joe flacco just doesn't make mistakes and he makes enough plays for people to respect him. ben, i just don't trust him to take care of the football against the quality opponents we have left. the fate of the division championship rest on him to not make any mistakes and if the steelers expect to win any games in the playoffs if they make it, he needs to find a phone booth and put on his cape and play as if the steelers are paying him $102 million dollars.

Why would we trade for Flacco?
We already have Leftwich and he is awesome…

i am pretty sure that bad maafala is just saying that maybe we should consider all of our options and i for one really think the trade for flacco is great because he is the best qb ever and really seriously ben sucks and that maybe punctuation is nice but not really very useful because everyone can read all of these comments anyhow and figure out that what we are saying is that tomlin is awful and lebeau should be fired and we should promote just vincent from the ps so he can pound the ball

Yeah, I’m pretty convinced this is all a joke now. Not a very good joke. More like “The Aristocrats” as told by your old aunt who doesn’t like to swear and was never very bright.

TO looked really good last night. I’d give Ben’s left nut and all of our picks for that kind of talent. We’ll throw in ernster to sweeten the deal.

What about taking a flyer on Matt Lienert? We could probably get him on the cheap with the Steller year Kurt Warner is having?

What about derek anderson? If he’s going to get cut from the browns we practically have to take him!

Beerman
probably tattooed Joe Flacco all over his body. The guy isn’t Tom Brady. He’s thrown 10 TDs and 9 Ints. Ben’s thrown 11 TDs and 11 Ints.

Whatever highschoolsteeler. Ben is a veteran and Joe is a rookie, ben should be doing way better given his years of experience. I mean, don’t you remember Ben as a rookie? Total crap.

Really?
Sorry but Ben threw an 8.9 YPA his rookie year. That is something that happens once every 3 or 4 years by even the most accomplished of Quarterbacks. He did it as a rookie. He also had a 98 rating, and broke about 50 other records.
Yes his rookie year was crap!

remember
80% of all comments by steelguy99 are facetious. No need to get upset on this one. Think we’re all on the same team.

Ben's Rookie year was much better than flacco's
Big Ben
13 games started
66.4% comp.
2,621 yards passing
8.9 avg.
17 TD/ 11 INTS
98.1 QB rating
144 Rush yds, 1 TD
2 FUM, 2 LOST
MR. JOE FLACCO, 11 GAMES TO DATE
60.6% COMP.
1,996
6.6 AVG
10 TDS, 9 INTS
78.7 QB rating
145 RUSH YD, 2 TDS
7 FUM, 1 LOST
Flacco is having a solid rookie year, don’t get me wrong. He also is in a similar situation as was Ben- Good run game, Strong defense for support. Ben did more though, and our team went onto a 15-1 record.

Put it this way
The year Ben had as a rookie will never be repeated again. Both record wise and efficiency wise.
