Casey Hampton Sack

I just wanted to point out the Casey Hampton sack in the first couple of minutes of the third quarter. That was really when things started going in the right direction. It was funny how Hampton got the holding flag, had a really mean/mad look on his face, and then busted through the center to destroy Cassel on the next play. Amazing moment.

After that, the dominoes started falling! A big win for the Steelers, and now we move on to the Cowboys... a game I personally have looked forward to the entire year.

True dat

Just judging by how pissed off he was, clearly he has the ear of that whole defense. Snacks isn’t the kind of guy who’s yelling at the refs much, so when he is, people are paying attention. They were fired up after that, and the same reaction came after Clark got flagged.

If they get that kind of reaction to two penalties, I hope they get called every game from now on…

Exactly what I was saying

When he got the sack, I screamed “Throw another flag on him!”

I was bitching to my buddy

about the holding call, right when Big Snack ripped the sack.

by BallsofSteel on Nov 30, 2008 8:49 PM EST reply actions

he had the o-lineman’s jersey in a ball in his left hand; his right arm block was legal.

Not saying the call was bad.

I’m just pointing out his play after the flag. Redeeming.

One of the most entertaining plays to watch. Absolutely loved it.

The call was terrible

Show me where the NE OL were trying to get off the double team to the second level. Oh, you can’t? Right, because Snack was throwing both of their asses 5 yds down the line.

Bullshit call. Maybe next year the rule will be that the defender has to play with his hands behind his back in bracelets. That should make the game safer and increase scoring at the same time. BONUS!

I hate Roger Goodell.

Snack Attack!

It looked like Cassel ate BigSnacks last twinkie.

It shows you how dominant Casey can be when he wants to. He CAN be a pass rushing nose tackle like Rogers and Jenkins,..its just that our defense doesn’t call for it. But he can decide on any given play to sack the QB and he will.

And hey ismail, Lebeau gets plenty of credit for his half-time adjustments this year. Truly inspired.

I was always referring to this year,…which is why i got confused by your repeated references to last year since the 2 defenses are radically different. But anyway, all is forgotten with a win!!

Loved that play

Great call. The sack was almost as enormous as our plus-sized pro-bowl nose tackle.

I also liked getting to watch the finer points of interior line play. I bet you that good Nose Tackles pull that move every other play. He just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. But the truth is, let them call him once a game – if its going to motivate him like that.

After being angry I was just amused at the call. Holding? By a 3-4 NT? The guys that get the most dirty attention in the NFL every snap?

by steelguy99 on Dec 1, 2008 8:26 AM EST reply actions

I just wish

Big Snack would play that motivated more often…the man would go for double digit sacks every year. Haha

But seriously, I laughed for like 10 minutes straight because I don’t remember the last time I saw Case use pass rushing skills like that and swarm the QB.
Haha. Loved it.

Well, I think Tomlin said to him “go get the QB casey.” Normally casey’s job is to just clog up 2 guys, which we all know he can only do by cheating and holding, unlike the O-line which legitimately just stop him most of the time using their superior technique.
