Potsie is James Farrior

Many of the nicknames you see on this site are not made up here, but are generally used in the public and/or on the team. A few others:

Harrison: Silverback
Ike: Face Me or Face Me Ike
Hampton: Big Snack
Willie Parker: FWP
Limas Sweed: G.O.A.T. or Greatest of All Time

Okay, the last one hasn’t caught on yet, but I’m trying to start it.

lol

Sweed’s nickname on the team is “Real Country”

To the tune of the classic children's song "This Old Man" (the part with nick nack patty whack)

Big Snack, Silverback, take the Dawg Pound's Bone, the Black and Gold sent the Brownies crying home.

why are people all of sudden changing harrison to deebo? silverback was the first name i heard someone give him.

i prefer calling willie f-dub. but oh well.

Silverback

was a name Harrison was not real fond of and could be construed as racist by some. A Silverback is a big bad black gorilla. Deebo is the character from the Ice Cube “Fridays” trilogy who was a real bad ass. Someone posted a picture of Deebo one time and he kind of resembles Harrison in a bad ass sort of way.

oh never knew about the racist part. i know deebo from friday but its just weird for me because i have a friend who we call deebo, for obvious reasons.

are there any reason for these nicknames?
for example face me or face me ike?

by tha1andonly57@aim.com on Dec 2, 2008 10:12 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Face Me

That little hand thing you see Ike do where he waves his hand in front of his face is him challenging the defender to “face me.” This taunt is much more appreciated than throwing the ball at WRs which seems to draw a personal foul for Ike.

i thought that was from the little thing Tony Yayo of G-Unit does. Actually i am pretty sure that is where he got it from because he started doing it like last year or not too long ago, after it was popular within the G-Unit group. It’s suppose to me you can’t see me hence putting the hand in his own face. which means that you are not on his level which means you are not as good as him

some ebonics for you.

What's g-unit?

I’ve wondered about that hand gesture for months now as I see other athletes then just ike do it.

GOAT

Ricky Carmichael already has that name. And for good reason. When it’s an athelete that will never be overtaken, then you can call them the GOAT. I.e. Jordan, Ali, Petty….

football is only one sport of many

Motorsports are almost as awesome as football. If not as awesome.
