James Harrison...Your Steelers Single Season Sack Record Holder
Today was a fairly disappointing day for the Black and Gold, and their fans, but let's make sure we pause a moment to recognize James Harrison's performance this year. 16 sacks is a new Steelers single season record. Not bad for an undrafted free agent....
While it doesn't appear that Harrison will be much of a factor in the Defensive Player of the Year race, he certainly has been the pace-setter for the most dynamic front 7 in the NFL, and the source of most of the mayhem caused by the NFL's best defense.
Props to Harrison, and let's hope he can heal up and be 100% Silverback for our Divisional Round playoff game...we're going to need him to constantly be in the backfield all January, and hopefully February....

what's up?
with his injury??? Post Gazette said he is hurt now. That would be just a huge blow come playoff time if he isn’t 100% I hope he rests during the Browns game simply to see how Bruce Davis will play. He needs to show what he has. Letting Timmons rush the from the ROLB spot would be fun next week also.

Sweet
Now first out of a long line of outstanding past and present Steeler players, nicely done Silverback.

Awesome accomplishment.
When you think of all the legendary LBs here before him. I’m glad he got that. He deserves it. It most likely will be his last of the season, too.

held up
How appropriate was it that he broke the record while being held on that play very clearly by Alge Crumpler? Story of the season for harrison. Glad he got in there and made the play. Hope he’s ok in a few weeks to wreck havoc in the playoffs.

You're right ...
there, I don’t know how the referee missed a significant number of holds. Although, I’m sure we got away with a couple.

Football Night in America said...
that he hurt his “hip and side” in the first quarter today just by hitting the ground hard while trying to make a tackle. Harrison said that he doesn’t know if he’ll play against the Clowns, but he’ll be ready to go for the playoffs.
It’s really too bad that at the same time Harrison is lighting up the AFC, Ware is pushing the all time single season sacks record.
Also, it shows you how determined to succeed he is that the gets held consistently, week in week out, but has still managed 16 sacks and 90+ tackles. Steelers MVP second year in a row in my opinion.

Yeah....this man is a beast
Every team we played this year has had to gameplan for him, and that’s truly a complement. But you know what i love most about this guy? After the Titans game he was asked to comment on him getting the record, his answer was: A win would have been better. And that’s just him. Definitely Steeler MVP
