week 14 injuries and cowboys game
have you seen all of the week 14 injured players for the steelers?
its bad, troy p., big ben, aaron smith, willie parker, and keisel
these are just a few of them
http://www.nfl.com/teams/injuries?team=PIT&week=14
that is the list from nfl.com
other than that, this is gunna be a rough game that i would rather us not play.
the cowboys are hot right now and so is romo and it will be a challenge for our defense to handle.
what do you think will happen this sunday?

Actually
Our injury situation is probably the best it has been all year. All of those injuries you named are pretty minor, besides Keisel and Kirschke, everyone else will play. Most of the other ones are just late season pains and strains. Ben and Willie will be on that list for the rest of the year i`m sure. The Cowboys have more to worry about on the injury front. Ware and Barber will be pretty gimpy coming off fresh injuries, if they even play at all.

you can take that to the bank

They may play
But no one plays well against the steelers

then why do you have 3 losses?
Eagles defense looked like they had a decent game against you. Ware is absolutely the best pass rusher in football, even at 80%.

turnovers and lack of offensive… anything, really.

You call a score of 15-6 playing well
The Eagles beat us fair and square. No doubt about that. But truly NOBODY plays WELL against the steelers. They may win, but it isnt pretty.
Considering Pittsburgh was in field goal range throughout the end of that game but was going for the TD might as well be 15-9 btw.

If you win, you play well enough
Sure, offenses aren’t going to be extremely effective against your defense, but they can be effective enough to win.
BTW, the issue wasn’t our offense playing well against your defense anyway, it was whether Ware would play well enough and like I said, you’re OL has given up a ton of sacks this season, so apparently he can and will.

the steelers would be 11-1
if ben hadn’t forgotten how to play qb for the middle part of the season.
8 ints 1 td against giants, colts, skins…..and we BEAT the skins.
against both the Colts and Giants, we held a lead mid-way through the 4th qtr…until Ben worked his “magic.”
now, however, that ship apparently has been righted. NO offense will beat this defense. and with Ben protecting the ball, willie almost 100%, and the o line starting to come together….look out.
i’m not making any excuses…we lost those games that we (big time cliche) “should have won”… but there is, from an observer’s standpoint at least, a direct cause that does not necessarily indict the whole team.

I don`t know Terry
I think Barber will be just fine, but Ware would have me a little concerned if i were you. The key to the Cowboys stopping our offense will depend on getting to Ben. A tweaked knee could really slow down Ware.

you think barber will be just fine?
barber’s game is power running. pittsburgh’s biggest strength on defense is stopping the run between the tackles. barber is a beast, taking absolutely nothing away from him (in fact, he would look spectacular in black and gold), but i don’t believe for one second that he’ll be just fine against this defense. scheme runners (denver, new england) are the only runners that give us trouble…certainly NOT power backs (see: brandon jacobs, fred taylor, jamal lewis, willis mcgahee).
ware….i’m worried about him. he’s a force coming off the edge. i don’t think starks has the speed or technique to neutralize him. hopefully we’ll send heath out to chip him on most passing plays. we’ll need a big, big game from willie and max if we want to move the ball, and keep ben healthy.

* healthy or not
i should have thrown that in there about barber….healthy or not, i don’t think he’ll play fine

trust me, Ware will be fine
Roethlisberger will find that out Sunday.

i trust you that ware will be fine
and you should trust me that unless your name is James Harrison, one man doesn’t single-handedly defeat an offensive unit. tell Romo to start running now.

Romo should come in a big plastic ball
Thats probably his only chance.
You know whats neat, theres really only two guys that singlehandedly can change a game defensively.
James Harrison, and Troy Polamalu.
HEY WE HAVE BOTH!!!

It might be alright if it was only Harrison as they could just send 5 or 6 people to hold him but with Woodly on the other side people die

Terry
is a delusional Cowboy fan who is still drinking the 2007 season kool aid. He fails to acknowledge that the Boys will be playing in 30 below weather w/ a good chance of snow. It doesn’t bode well for a team who depends primarily on playing from ahead. They will need some resemblance of a running game and if Barber can’t go at full strength on a crappy field than the onus will be on a rookie Tashard CHoice who looks good but is still a rookie, and nowhere in the class of a Felix Jones. Ware’s knee is a lil banged up and for someone who will be trying to explode to the QB, a slick field just does not sound like it will help the guys with lower body injuries. But we will see. Actually I won’t b/c I’ll be working sadly but I’ll try and listen to it on the radio. BTW the Boys have been practicing indoors when the weather dips below 60 degrees. LMAO what sissy’s.

Watch your language
The Cowgirls aren’t preparing properly and are being their usual estrogen loaded selves.
The injury report is pretty mild for both teams. Worth noting though that Barber wouldnt go anywhere on this D even at 100. Ware will need to be able to turn the corner sharply, and in this field and with his knee I dont see him at 100 effectiveness.

Cowboys are preapring just fine
Like you would know what it takes to prepare for an NFL game…thats funny.
I got news for you, Ware will be just as effective as Harrison, you can take that to the bank.

We don't know
what it takes to prepare for a game. But 31 other teams don’t do this junk. I think Tomlin, Belichik, Dungy, Coughlin, etc. know how to prepare for games and NONE of them pull stunts like this. I think it’s fair to say FWP (Fat Wade Phillips, not Fast Willie Parker) is not smarter than the 31 other head coaches in the NFL.

the hell they don't
Northern teams often practice inside during inclement weather.

by Terry on Dec 4, 2008 4:33 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Dude
Just because there is one common element between two things does not make them the same. Northern teams do sometimes practice inside. But those same teams don’t wear pyjamas to practice. If there is a team that does, that same team does not have a DJ lead a dance party at practice. If by some small chance there is still a team that does this, they don’t give healthy players six consecutive days off from practice in the middle of the season. Even if there was a team that does all of that they certainly don’t invite corporate sponsors to the party.
Besides, there is little chance that a team from the North won’t be ready for cold weather consider they live, work, and play in it all the time. Same doesn’t go for teams from Texas.

inclement weather....
pittsburgh inclement weather: 20 degrees (15 degree wind chill), 25+ mph wind, sideways snow, frozen playing surface.
inclement weather in dallas: 64 degrees, 7 light gray clouds, and TO crying for the world to “leave my quarterback alone”

To acrollet
So I’m gonna hijack the thread for a second, since this is a matter of utmost importance. I posted this comment elsewhere, but the thread doesn’t show up on the recent ones anymore, hence I doubt anyone would see it.
“hey acrollet, I was recently trying to recall someone talking about getting a Steelers party going on in Dallas in a comment, and it turned out to be you! haha. Anyway, are you doing something like that this weekend? Cuz I would be up for joining if that’s happening. let me know what you think: ”mailto:brandona@collegeplus.org">brandona@collegeplus.org
Ah yes, and the question applies to anyone in the Dallas area I guess: What do you think?"
