sunday preview
well the cowboys have all but ruled marion barber out for the game sunday. that is huge. without barber the steelers can focus solely on stopping the pass and "pin the ears" and go after romo more. with barber out that also means that jason witten will have to stay back to help protect romo. i don't see the dallas offense doing much under those circumstances. if the steelers do not make any stupid mistakes (are you listening ben?) and turn the ball over then they win in a walk. its all on them. if they can run on the patriots whose defensive line is way superior to dallas then they should be able to stampede over the cowboys defense.

out?
I don’t think he is out…game time decision as of today. I would be very surprised if he doesn’t play.
Believe me, on one hand I don’t want him to play but I also don’t want to hear the excuses if we win, “yeah, but we didn’t have Barber and Ware wasn’t 100%….”.
I think he plays. Cortisone shots at 3:45 can do wonders…

Barber isn’t going to be effective. LT had a very similar injury at the beginning of the year and he sucked. Feet ae important to those who un for a living. If the field is a mess, they’re screwed.

I heard we might try to trade Big Ben for Brad Johnson straight up before the game on Sunday. How would that factor into the gameplan for us?
Who should start Brad Johnson or Byron?

IF Barber is out we are going to still run the ball
with Tashard Choice who was a workhorse at Georgia Tech and Alonzo Coleman.

brandon jacobs and clinton portis couldn’t run on the steelers but some retreads like tashard choice and coleman can? keep smoking that pot

You need to take some reading comp classess
I said we are still going to run the ball; I never said how successfully though.

If we can grind out 80 yards on the ground I'll be happy
and let the passing game do the rest

No doubt
They will run the ball with Choice. Whether they get anywhere with him is another issue.
Honestly, he has respectable numbers for someone who doesn’t carry the ball often. But he has so little play time, I don’t see how anyone could base strong support for him on anything other than blind faith. Could he be very good? Maybe. But that remains to be seen. We already know Pittsburgh can stop good runners. “Meh” runners are best utilized for dump passes.

Living in ATL
I was able to see Choice play at GT. It is a different level of competition, but he was really impressive. I think Choice will do better than people think. Of course, against the Steelers, doing well might be 60 yards.

I think Choice is a lot like Gary Russell in quality

Choice
Why do Cowboy fans think this guy is so amazing? I saw him at GA Tech and think he is a good back, but will he really do anything against the Steelers? Doubt it. If Brandon Jacobs and the leagues best offensive line and rushing attack could only muster up 47 yards, i think its highly unrealistic to think Choice will be any kind of a factor in this game.

Choice
isn’t great …. but he isn’t crap like all you guys think. I don’t think that he’ll get much, maybe 50 yards. But i also think that Big Ben will be flat on his ass a few times, forcing him into mistakes like he had against NYG (4 picks.) As long as Ware is in the game, which he will be, it should be a great match up.
Best of luck to you guys.
Suck it.

Missing the point
Barber wasn’t going to run anyways during this game besides a few token carries in an attempt to keep the defense honest. The usefullness of Barber was his experience in being able to pick up the exotic blitz packages LeBeau is a genious at.
I don’t think Choice has nearly enough experience or ability to recognize who is blitzing where and when. This may even force Dallas to leave Witten in the backfield to pick up the blitz in his stead.

eeeexxxxactly. Witten in the backfield makes life a whole lot easier. Double TO until he gets irritated haha, and then LeBeau anything he wants all game.

you jus thit the nail on the head
Without Barber in the backfeild to pick up blitzes it makes our job of stoping the big play that much easyer. You can not expect Choice to do very well in this game.

if the Steelers D
can manage to take TO out of the first half, he might take himself out of the second half. Williams is a little banged up from reports I saw.
One question is how good is the dallas o-line in run blocking? Do they make barber look better or vice versa? Jones sure looked good when he got the ball.

Beerman beat me to the punch. I saw the title for this post and didn’t think it said anything about MBIII, but yea my thoughts about it are on the post I put up.

Romo is the key
If Romo has time there is no way the steelers will be able to compete with the Mighty Dallas Cowboys. Go Cowboys!
