judgment day
well here it is folks. i just wanted to put this out before kickoff. this game right here today will tell you everything about how good the steelers are in 2008. this is the season defining game right here. sure on paper it is just a meaningless interconference game but it goes much further.
if the steelers lose then they would have lost to the 3 toughest teams on their schedule with all 3 losses being at home. they cannot afford to lose this game. on the flip side however, if they win then their confidence will be at an all time high and will be gaining momentum as the season winds down into playoff time.
today is the day the rooneys had in mind back in january when they signed ben for $102 million. the rooneys want a qb to face off against the top competition in the nfl in bad weather and perform well and pick up victories. today the steelers are going to live or die with big ben. the running game for both teams will be tough goings with the weather. that leaves us with ben. will he rise to the occasion and heat up in the cold weather?? will he be the new john elway/brett favre????? or will he revert to his ways against the giants and colts and become the new neil o'donnell/kordell???? today will prove whether or not that $102 million dollar deal was worth it or flushed down the toilet.

Oh, the drama :)
this game right here today will tell you everything about how good the steelers are in 2008.
Sorry, but I figure this is a game. One game.
The upcoming games against the Titans and Ravens figure to be bigger tests. Not only can they beat the Steelers, those teams can beat up the Steelers. Those are teams that punish their opponents nearly as much as we do. We might lose to the Cowboys, but we won’t get manhandled by them.
(Love the enthusiasm, though.)

Well, let’s not forget … Tomlin tells us that this is the most important game on our schedule right now. :)

if
the steelers lose today then those other games won’t matter squat. this is where the money will be made and this is it right here. this is the prime time game. they are playing the cowboys. dallas is a legit super bowl team. this is where the steelers measure themselves against the best the nfl has to offer. its time the steelers come out on prime time and show their stuff. we will know if the steelers are contenders or pretenders after today’s game!!!!!!

I disagree
If the Steelers god forbid just have a bad day today; say the calls don’t go their way, or there’s more than one injury, or we just don’t play our normal play, and lose. That doesn’t end our season, we’re in first in our division and in the number 2 seed in the AFC. By know means does this game define us as a team, but it is definitely a vital win. If we win we’ll be hitting the hot streak, at the exact right time. I do agree that if we win, and if we win BIG, then we could be arguably be the best in the AFC.

Unfortunately,
You could not even wait until the end of the game to proclaim them pretenders.

why does?
it always come down to Ben? If we can keep a running game consistent in bad weather then it won’t be a factor.
