BTSC Mock Draft - Pick #29 by the Green Bay Packers: Martellus Bennet, TE, Texas A&M
We near the conclusion of our inagural Mock Draft with the Green Bay Packers selection at #30. Many thanks to Chicago Steeler for the selection. In addition to Pittsburgh and Cleveland, Green Bay is definitely one team I'll be keeping my eye on this year, for obvious reasons. Next up? Our final selection, the New York Giants, by the great RickVa.
The Green Bay Packers have come to a point not seen in 16 years. They are Favreless. All hail Aaron Rodgers. In all seriousness this was a very complete team this year once Ryan Grant started running the ball with authority. The biggest piece of the puzzle that does not return was their QB, but with Rodgers waiting in the wings, they're not going to spend a 1st round pick on a QB. They may try to grab one in round 3-7 though as a project in the event Rodgers doesn't work out. Grant looked good enough to pin some hopes on him as a starter again this year and with some other youth at the position they'll stand pat at RB unless one of the top prospects drops to them.
Defensively I was hoping one of the top 3-4 corners would fall to me at this spot to add some youth to the position and step in as a nickel right away. But with most of the top corners off the board, the next position cluster of importance would be O-Line which is again a little dry for this spot in the draft. The third position I would look for the Packers to address is Tight End. Bubba Franks had been injured all season and while Donald Lee did a servicable job, the Pack will be looking for another option in this position. Looking through the draft boards it seems the top TE is still available and so Green Bay will take: TE Martellus Bennett from Texas A&M.

Good job splitting that double team
Early in that clip, I was starting think they only threw to him wide out the right, but that deep pass to beat the double team was impressive. Good pick at a need position for the Packers.

A&M
The fact that anyone was able to put up decent numbers in the passing game at A&M was amazing. That offense was sub-par at best.

yup
Although having watched him and Jermichael Finley at Texas plenty, I’d say Finleys just as good. Just didnt time as well and hsa some strength to improve on.
BTW guys, please be patient with me the next day or so. I’m still learning this and am struggling a bit. Instead of spending time in my beta site this past month or so, I was providing you content! Now its catching up to me as I’m trying to learn all the new features on the fly.
Also, if you’re having any lag time on the page loads, you might want to consider getting the latest version of Firefox. Apparently its much, much cleaner. Your place of employment shouldnt mind you doing so, but certainly do it at home. Google Firefox and you’ll find out where to download it. It should just take you a second, is free, etc.
