I saw this morning that the Jags signed Garrard to an extention, but I didn't see the figures until now.

6 years, $60M, $20M guaranteed. That's a lot of money for a guy who only started one year and is 30 years old. He was very good on 3rd down, and he didn't throw interceptions when he wasn't playing us (3 for us, 3 for the rest of the league), but it's still a pretty big investment for a team like the Jags. I guess they're pretty far under the cap, though, and he does possess the intangible ability to run for 30 yards when the whole defense is being held, so why not. I also noticed that while the total deal is similar to Romo's, the guaranteed money is significantly less, which would make sense, considering his age. Congrats to him for going from a 29 year old servicable backup one year to one of the more highly paid players in the league the next year.
