Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Photo: This Is Why Pittsburgh's A Great Sports City

Casey Hampton, from the state of Texas, and Deshea Townsend, from Alabama, taking in a hockey game and pounding the glass in celebration after Marian Hossa's game-winning goal against the New York Rangers in the conference semifinals?

You serious?

 Absolutely.

Just as the whole city gets behind the Steelers, so too do the Steelers players get behind the other hometown teams.  Mellon Arena has been absolutely hopping (at least it sure looks/sounds that way on TV) these playoffs. Having Big Snack and Deshea in the house to add the decibal levels and buzz surrounding the Pens chase to the Cup is a beautiful thing.

That's pretty cool

Not gonna lie. And regarding the Pens…those Red Wings sure are gonna be hard to beat.

Gotta take care of the Flyers first

but you’re right, the Red Wings are looking hard to beat this year. So far in these playoffs, so are the Pens, though. If these two series continue, the Cup Finals may be one of the best matchups in years.

After we swept Ottawa, just the way the pens played I knew they were going to be tough to beat and didn’t think any team in the East would even take them to 6 games. This is because no team in the East has as great of a balance as the Pens in terms of offense, defense, goaltending, PP, and PK.

However, Detroit will be the only team that I think can beat us. There Defense is unbelievable. They can also score as well. There team is experience, and they are fast and highly skilled. I dont think there goaltending is that great, but if you face 20 shots a game, you dont need to be that great.

From what I saw of Game 3

despite Detroit’s victory, Osgood looked ripe for the plucking. He overcommits, usually makes the first move a bit too early, and sometimes takes bad angles. He has very good reflexes and recovers quickly, and he’s pretty good at covering the puck, but he’s certainly not playing better than Fleury or even Biron at this point.

That’s pretty much the only weakness that team has. They’re good or great in every other aspect, though not as big or as physical as the Pens.

awesome

That is awesome, especially considering Hampton is a Texas guy. I’m sure he’s bought a house or two in the Burgh area but maybe that means he’s working out extra hard this off season.

Love this post

This is one of those feel good moments without the TV guys doing a 20 min special on it. I love the fact that the former Buckeyes( our your favorite college players) that make it to the NFL come back work out, talk with, and help teach our current players, but that is vested love. These are adopted sons our favorites or heroes, out enjoying a fun night of sports, and supporting their second home. That’s just cool

yea

From the looks of their faces, looks like theyre genuinely having a good time, caught up in the moment of good sports action.

Agreed, good stuff.
