TheMostViolentTeam Set to Kick Butt, Take Names
The time is 11:43 EST. You have about 1 hour and 15 minutes to wish our own TMVT good luck on his NAVY SEALS physical examination. Pushups, situps, a 1.5 mile run, swim and other physical tests will be administered. He has sworn off alcohol and greasy food for months now in preparation.
Give him a shout out Steelers style to pump him up. He's vowed to head to his local Steelers bar for a much deserved beer and burger afterwards, followed by some more of his great contributions to the site now that this will be out of the way.
Go kick some ass young man!

swim
I might make it through some of the tests, but I would officially die in the swim. I flail wildly and lose all my breath and energy so fast. They’d send me on my way after laughing at me.

Luck & Thanks!
Thank you MostViolent. Your courage is admirable. Your choice of careers is too. Thank you for defending our great country.
It is because of people like you that we have the right to say what we feel when we want. Freedom of speech is such a glorious god given right and you help defend that right.
Oh, and good luck with the push ups and sit ups. Give ‘em Hell.

Good Luck!
Navy Seals, probably the toughest military unit to join, hoo-rah. Kick ass on the physical, I hear the mental toughness part is just as, if not harder than, the physical, so good luck there as well.

results!
here’s the test and my results (with numbers for “competitive” -meaning guys got in with those numbers- in parentheses)
500 yd swim, sidestroke
7:35 (8:30)
10 minutes rest
max pushups in 2 minutes
103 (100)
rest 2 minutes
max situps in 2 minutes
107 (100)
rest 2 minutes
max pullups without coming off bar
20 (20)
rest 10 minutes
run 1.5 miles
8:58 (9:00)
a little disappointed with the run, i had trained to go under 8:30, but my legs were dead, just gutted it out to get under 9. crushed the swim and did good in the other ones as well. thanks for the well wishes fellas.

Congrats!
Looks like you hit what you needed on every one of them, if I read this right. Is there additional review required, or do you know that you’re in?

well
i’m applying for Officer School, and trying to get a contract that says I’ll go straight to SEAL training. if i had just enlisted, then yes, I would basically have a contract already for straight to SEALs. For Officers it’s very competitive, a board meets in June and January and picks about 7 people from 40 applicants who will go to Officer School, then to SEALs (other SEAL officers come in from Annapolis and ROTC programs). other things they look at are the interviews I recently did with SEAL officers, and GPA, test scores from a standardized test the military gives to officers, and a general background check. the physical part is the biggest thing they look at though. i’ll find out in early or mid-June if I got a spot, but right now my application is looking really good.

Sounds like you in good shape
but as you said, it will likely be competitive. Anyway, as Blitz and others have said, we’re pulling for you!

Congrats MVT
Impressive numbers by any means. I know for a fact, I couldn’t post a single one of those numbers fresh, much less back to back. Maybe pushups but only if I was completely fresh, a 500 yd swim would kill me.

Burger and a beer!
If you ever have the misfortune to come to Wichita, I will hook you up with the worlds best burger and a cold Miller Lite at my place! I always take care of the Steeler’s nation….even the one’s that remind me how pudgy I have become after my playing days! haha
I wasn't hired for my disposition!

Best of Luck
Nice work MVT! Echoing the rest, I appreciate your choice in career and hope you make it into the officer program you’re looking for.
Also good to know that we have someone on our blog that can kick the crap out of any one else’s blog members.
