Strahan's Retirement
I remember a while back a blog from Redskins' Tight End Chris Cooley was posted on here and he has written another great write-up in regards to Michael Strahan's retirement.
I have posted the link below and I really think it is interesting to hear one football players take on another. Just thought someone might be interested...
I personally really didn't follow Strahan's career but it was interesting to hear a competitors take on how Strahan approached the game. Who knows if Strahan will return to football or not, but I'm sure he will have a sucessful career in broadcasting if he so chooses.
Also speaking of people who could have a career in the Media Chris Cooley of the Redskins is VERY interesting to read and living in the DC area I also have had the chance to hear him on the Radio and believe he could have a long career in the Media as well.
Do you think Strahan will be back in the NFL?
What network will he be working for in the Fall?

Gap toothed sack machine
Ive got respect for Strahans game. He was solid for so many years…its when he talks that i get really annoyed. So im really not happy with the fact that he will constantly be on tv now. I wish he would just call it a day and fade off into retirement.

i heart chris cooley
Strahan’s a very special player. Don’t really have overly fond or negative feelings about him either way, but he’s gotten it done for a long long time.

only problem
I do think it kinda sucks he holds the sack record, but was gifted it by Brett Favre… I’m sure the guy who owned it before him didn’t get any pity sacks in a game that didn’t matter. It’s a small gripe but it bothers me all the same.

thanks for the link
as for the single season record- that’s more on favre (although warner did give up 4 sacks that season), and the relative newness of the stat doesn’t help
The previous record holder, Mark Gastineau, may not have had any pity sacks, but he has admitted steroid use and has had been troubled over the years. If you want a concise history, here is an espn story on him:
