QUESTION FOR EVERYONE

I do not know about you guys but i am F*** fired up for this Saturday when the steelers single game tickets are going on sale. It starts at noon. here is the problem.  This year because i live in DC, i wanted to go to the Washington nationals home opener against the braves and they said that their single game tickets for the home open would be open to the public at 9 am on ticketmaster.  So i was thinking in my head, ill have the page set up and have a real time clock on my desk and click best available seats and that i would for sure be able to get it.  Well it didnt work because it was sold out, in the first 6 mins but because of the mass load of people doing what i did, i didnt click it on time or my computer didnt work fast enough.

My question is to you guys, do you guys know any technique i can used on saturday at noon to help me get a ticket in pittsburgh.  I already plan on picking a game where they are not playing against a team that everyone would want to see like the browns and dallas.  I know I am being greedy here because i already got steelers tickets this year, but i really really want more and i will say this I NEED MORE TICKETS.

So give me your insite BTSC, and i understand if no one wants to share their secrets because they want to get the tickets themselves.  But if you want to share with me because you just love my username lol then send me an email.

Thanks guys

I'm a season-ticket holder and tailgater

And honestly, you can always get tickets, good, fair and not good seats, about an hour before kickoff around the stadium. The demand exceeds supply up until an hour or so before the game, then supply exceeds demand. I’ve seen it every game, including playoffs. I’ve also noticed that pricing is reasonable and sometimes lower than face. Minutes prior to kickoff the price has to come down.

It’s nice to have tickets in hand. It feels better. It plans better. There’s no work involved. But seriously, if getting into a game is the bottom line, just show up. Before my daughter and I got season tickets, I went to almost every game with a bunch of guys and all we did was just show up.

agreed

Some nice man like maryrose might be trying to get rid of a ticket close to gametime and you won’t get ripped off.

You may pay a bit more if you dont get lucky, say 20-40 bucks, but that might be better than the hassle of doing it this way.

That said, you’re competing with the sharks that own ticket companies. Those people are scuzzy and probably have all sorts of things set up to give them an advantage. Can’t say I know how to beat them, other than just cross your fingers, make sure your clocks set up correctly, and have multiple friends trying to do it. If one of you gets thru, text the others and tell them you’re in and to give up so you don’t buy multiple sets.

But I agree with ‘rose. Just show up and look for an honest person whos a fan, not just there scalping.

Don't open more than one browser

When ticketmaster opened for online Steelers ticket sales last year I was put on hold. When I opened a second browser, ticketmaster cut my connection. Make sure you get online as soon as it starts and hope for the game you have picked.

If you subscribe for 3 years of Steelers Digest they will allow you to buy 2 tickets to one game. Unfortunately, you have to wait until next year to take advantage of that offer.

Don't jump the gun

One thing i’ve noticed on ticketmaster is that you shouldn’t hit the go button at 11:59:45 or anything like that. you’ll lose valuable time getting the message about waiting till noon.

go to a ticket broker online

thats where I got my tickets to the Cowboys game in December. They can be a little pricey, but you can get good seats for any game.

Seriously...

...forget about synching clocks. Just get on ticketmaster five minutes before they go on sale and keep reloading until the “Buy Tickets” button appears.

Also, it may help if you can go somewhere that has a really fast internet connection.

Awesome!!!

Between my bro and I we just got tickets to three games! I’m stoked! The best one being the Cowboys game to watch RomoNation get pummeled. Can’t freakin’ wait. This makes the wait for football season seem all the longer!

We’ve mentioned this but as the season gets closer hopefully those of us that are at the same games can meet for a brew.
