Hug It Out Penguins Fans..At Least For A Few More Days

The Pens live to see another day, forcing Game 6 in dramatic fashion just a few minutes ago with a Petr Sykora goal in triple OT.  Game 6 will be played in Pittsburgh on Wednesday night, with momentum perhaps back on Pittsburgh's side, knowing they can win in Detroit in Game 7 provided they take care of business at Mellon Arena on Wednesday.

Even during the dark days a few short years ago(when this video was added), Pens fans remained loyal and patient, knowing it wouldn't be long before the proud franchise put out a solid product on the ice at the Igloo. Well, the Pens are back in a big way, regardless of how this series concludes. But while we're on the topic, anybody think Pittsburgh has what it takes to force Game 7, where anything can happen? Though Pittsburgh has rebounded nicely in games 3-5, Detroit has been the better team essentially all series, even to the casual fan's eye.

Great game, and perhaps an epic series in the works. Kudos to the Penguins for showing the resolve they needed to stay alive following a heartbreaking loss in Game 4.

Epic Game!

No matter what happens the Penguins have gained pallet loads of experience and proven to have the heart of a champion. Their window is wide open for the future. This one ain’t over yet! To send the game to OT with 30 seconds left with the rabid Detroit fans screaming “We want the Cup!” was classic.

I think Fleury had about 91 saves!

wow

Man did I want to go to bed early last night, but the Pens wouldn’t let me. Detroit really does look like a much better hockey team as a whole but the Pens have driven it to Game 6 in Pittsburgh where they seem to play much better. So if they can take this one and then scrape together some more heartstopping luck like they got in game 5 who knows?

Ha. I had the same problem, actually.

Sitting on my couch thinking, “So tired…but must…watch…hockey….” It was definitely worth it, though.

Pens

I’m not much of a hockey fan but these young Pens have drawn me in a bit. I’d love to see them push it to a game 7. That would be a great deal for hockey.

Had typo in there with who scored game winner. Fixed now.

Good Lord.

Generally, multiple overtime games don’t end well fpr the Pens. To win one in the SCF, on a goal scored by Sykora and set up by Malkin, two guys who hadn’t sniffed the score sheet previously this series, is just incredible.

And the silence you hear is Marc-Andre Fleury’s haters sulking. That may not be the best goalie performance ever, but it’s the best I’ve ever seen.

heya folks

Move is almost done and then I’ll be settled, and back in a job that’s not as busy, so I can post more again. Most of my free time has been devoted to hockey, I’m a huge fan, and Monday’s win was incredible. To get that win in Detroit, in the 3rd OT is unreal. Flower was amazing. Honestly, the Wings were throwing everything at him, especially the 2nd OT. I don’t know how he saved some of those shots. Keep in mind he’s only 23! If they can win tonight, and they are tough on home ice, then they have a great chance to win the series. Of course, they have to win one more in Detroit, which is easier said than done.
