WHO ARE YOU WATCHING TONIGHT??

I don't know if I am breaking any blogging rules by making a pregame post to a preseason game but what the heck. I wanted to see who people were excited to see get some extended time tonight and what everyones overall goal is for the final preseason game tonight. I know everyone wants us to walk away from this one and not limp so that being said, who do you want to focus on and for what reasons. I like seeing the boardline guys work thier asses off for thier one last shot to make the squad. Who will you be watching???

Mendenhall, Sweed, Timmons, Woodley, Dixon, Moore, Hartwig, Kimo, all things special teams.

Just some of the players I’ll be watching tonight, along with everyone else on the team. Like you I am also looking forward to any player making plays and standing out to the coaches and making their decision really hard.

Go Steelers! Stay healthy!

and TROY !!!

Welcome back Troy Polamalu.

It’ll be great to see him back out there on the field. Hopefully he will be 100% healthy, and look 100% out there, something I’m not sure we’ve seen from him in a couple years.

Reminder – kick off is 7PM tonight.

3 hours and counting – GET PUMPED for last preseason and regular season on deck!

Can't get the game live

so I’ll have to watch my Wolfpack against the SC Gamecocks.

I’ll catch the re-air on the NFLN though. Probably, mainly special teams, to see if any bubble players stick out.

I'm with you Wolfpack

As much as I’d love to watch the Steelers, I’ll have to catch them on the re-air. My viewing interests will turn to college football and my hometown Baylor Bears (yea I know they suck big ones but I can’t help it). With three CFB games tonight (I think it’s three right?), I can’t wait to see some real football.

For the re-air though, I want to see if Reid can follow up a good game and I’ll also be watching Gary Russell (something tells me he’ll get alot of carries).

Baylor

Did you go to Baylor? They gave us our only shutout ever at Carter-Finley Stadium about ten years ago. I was at that game. It sucked big ones (a rainy day, with a final score of 14-0).

heck no

I grew up around the Waco area but I certainly didn’t have the 20K a year for their flat rate tuition and certainly didn’t do enough either academically or athletically to earn a scholarship. Growing up around that area though, you get free Bears’ tickets all the time so I went to quite a few games as a kid. They were always kind of my local, underdog team to root for and since I don’t have any major college rooting interests, I’ve always kept an eye on them. Although I did date a chick who went to Baylor, does that count for anything?

Oh, ok

I guess dating her got you on campus, but that’s probably it.:) I can understand pulling for the local team.

Can't watch either dang!

Still in the preseason blackout for me….

I’m looking forward to reading up on how the lines do really. Also quite curious about the punting and 5th receiver battles. You guys who can see the game let us know how it really looks.

Well, it seems you had little to worry about from the Wolfpack this year. I thought we might have a chance there for a while, but after our QB went down, the offense died. Good luck the rest of the way.

I don’t know…it’s strange that it went that way. I was trying to follow the game on the Gamecocks site which has one of those pictoral drive followers. Early in the game you guys were tearing our new QB Beecher up like a dog in the trash. I thought we were doomed. He was sacked 5 times and intercepted at least 4 right….

I didn’t see the action, so can’t really say what the heck happened. I didn’t know your QB went out…is he ok? Hope so. There was some kind of freaky play with a fumble and recovery by the Gamecocks right down at the endzone apparently.

I still think that there are issues aplenty in there for them to work on. I think you guys will bounce back and maybe this is the thing that drives them. Certainly if they can keep up the pressure on the QB like they did early in the game you’re good to go. On the other side, I hope that the Cocks don’t think their shit doesn’t stink.

It’s hard to have much confidence in your offense after losing 34-0 when your defense had 4 INTs. Our QB went out with a concussion in the 2nd quarter. After that, I was only able to see a little more, but when checked back a couple hours later, it was pretty evident why our QB, a RS freshman, beat out a SR. The backup just can’t get it done consistently. And, the number three is a gunslinger, but like Brett Favre without the TDs. Based on how we were able to get pressure on your QB early, I would say that you’re going to struggle with GA and Fla, who should have better pass rushes than the Wolfpack.

Willie Reid

He looked good against the Vikings but for some reason I’m having a hard time buying that he’s turned a corner. But I have to say he looks more muscular than I’ve seen him in the past.

I hope he’s taken that next step, otherwise the receiving corps is thin until and if Sweed develops.
