Fantasy Football

It looks like many of us here at BTSC are fantasy football fans.  I myself have always tried to avoid picking Steelers on my fantasy teams for a few reasons.

1- I already have a vested interest in EVERY Steelers game that comes on the tube; unlike matchups between the Chiefs and the Vikings, which I would only watch if there were some of my fantasy studs playing the game.

2- Steelers games are already stressful enough without having to worry about Big Ben needing to throw 3 touchdowns to win this week’s matchup.

3- I prefer for others in my league to own Steelers players so that they know what it is like to be part of the best franchise in sports history.

Anyways I saw this article on IGN. They basically did a simulated season using the 2009 version of Madden, and looked at who had the best stats in the league and who would have had the most fantasy points.  I won’t ruin the surprise for you with whom they said would be the biggest fantasy stud, but I will tell you that I was so excited I nearly wet myself.

Wow

Hines with 1400 yards and 16 TD’s? Ben with 4000 yards and 35 TD’s? Sounds like a good year to be a Steelers fan. They show a picture of Mendy with the number 5 jersey, so it can’t really be the future. Dang

seriously

Don’t forget the Steelers 14-2 record with the beast of a schedule that they have, plus another AFC North Title. Two for Two for Mr. Tomlin. I also like the Omar Epps comment at the end of the article.

talk about a wet dream

I drink the Black and Gold kool-aid every day but those numbers are crazy.

Did anyone notice that Alex Smith will be the 5th best fantasy player? I’d love to join a league with anyone who will take him in the first round.

hah, great little link

speaking of fantasy, has anyone heard who is in and who is out in the whole random SBN league thing?

BTSC fantasy league

The network is at the mercy of fanhouse and it’s taking longer than expected to complete the drawing. So don’t worry if you haven’t been notified b/c the drawing hasn’t taken place yet.

I’m sure Blitz will announce the results in an official post when it does happen (you’ll also be notified via email) and for those that aren’t chosen, we can always start “non-official” leagues.

I haven’t heard I’m in…so I was assuming I was OUT

yea

Cgolden is correct. No word yet. Rest assured I will let y’all know ASA it’s humanly possible. And as Charles mentioned, we’ll fire up some other leagues as well. I have some other Steelers signed stuff for prizes for those leagues, so it’ll be just as compeititve and fun. I’ll commit now to playing in at least two leagues, possibly three, depending on interest levels. And I’ll actually put up a fight this year in all three too :)

Long way of saying, stay tuned. More info coming ure way when I get it.

I never played fantasy football before. I’m tempted to try it but to win real money. I am aware of the fact that the US Congress made internet gambling illegal; with the only exception being fantasy football. Fantasy Football is not illegal. My question is: Which fantasy football league out there is the best for grand prize winnings?
