Bart Scott
Thought this quote from Bart Scott in James Walker's AFC North blog on ESPN.com was pretty great:
5. Which AFC North team do you enjoy playing against the most, and which team do you despise playing against?
BS: The team I hate the most and the team I love playing against is the same team -- I love facing the Pittsburgh Steelers. They play a brand of football that's about being a man. They play a man's game. They play football how it was played in the 1960s, 70s and early 80s. It's Midwest, bad weather, I am, you are, let's see who is what they say they are. I'm going to drop mine, you're going to drop yours, now let's see whose is the biggest?
We may not like Bart Scott, but that's a heck of a compliment, albeit one we are aware of. Still, nice to see the other players recognize the Steelers for who they are.

Damn...
To be honest, this is a strange mirror of the discussion on the Jags in another post, but that’s a good comment there by Scott. The best confrontations in sport come between these sort of feelings. You respect, but you hate to play them at the same time.
Can’t believe that I’m kinda sorta saying thanks to a Raven….unless its Boller throwing a pick3…

Gotta give Scott his props for saying that...
Don’t mean that that’ll save him from an ass whoopin’ from Hines Ward AGAIN!
To the tune of the classic children's song "This Old Man" (the part with nick nack patty whack)
Big Snack, Silverback, take the Dawg Pound's Bone, the Black and Gold sent the Brownies crying home.

That made my day last year.
Easily one of my favorite moments of the season.

All I have to say about him.

It’ just nice to know he’ll always have to keep his eyes open and look out from now on. That’s the instinct you get after getting your ass knocked out from out of nowhere. That creeping doubt will always be with him when he’s surrounded by the Black and Gold.
I bet it was good times bragging about burying Big Boy back in ‘06. Revenge is a dish best served cold, over and over and over…

Respect this!
Reading the final few comments here I was thinking, “well the guy did give us a compliment,” but that must have been the offseason rust on my henges – which was knocked the hell off by a little meeting at work this Friday. I ran into some guy I’d never seen before who sarted spouting off, “Steelers! (looking at my hat) Why don’t you get a real team like the Ravens.” Shaking my head I respond, “Ravens?....you poor B@$t@rd,” and just went on my way.
Thanks guys for the reminder. Bring on the season and Hines, smiling over the prostrate form of any Raven that gets in his way!

lol
More like it. Where you from overseas SCSteeler? Lots of comical stuff coming from you lately. I sense some good British humor. If I’m off and offensive, my bad :)

Cheers!
I’ve been overseas for about 15yrs – with a lot of time spent in the UK (so I suppose some of that can rub off after a while – I would never admit that to the English guys at work though!). I’m originally from South Carolina – where I’m pretty sure I once saw Hines play for the Bulldogs against the Gamecocks, and Duce Staley was our rb that game – pretty neat. Actually, I’ll be back home in the land of daytime football for good soon – so will be able to catch a lot more games, and maybe go see a game in Pittsburgh one day (I can dream).
