Madden's Screw Up
I'm not a John Madden basher like many other people out there, but I kept wondering why he was refering to Big Ben's injury as a "separated shoulder" during the broadcast on Sunday despite never hearing that term throughout the week. Did Madden have inside info, or was he just being stupid? Well according to Tomlin, Madden's an idiot:

So that's all I have on this, but I had to add one more sentence to get up to 75 words.

An AC sprain is also known as a mild shoulder separation, by the way.

It says that in the article
That’s why I said “according to Tomlin.” That being said, do you think Madden realized that? Also, did “shoulder sprain” come out last week, or not until this week? I thought leading into the Cleveland game all we’d heard was “sore shoulder” . . . I could be wrong about that.

Diva or Tough Guy?
Let me say first that Ben is one of my favorite Steelers and I wouldn’t trade him for any starting QB in the NFL now that Brady is down.
That said, I’m just asking, “is Ben a Diva?”
1) During the run to XL Ben claims to have broken several toes during a previous game. Cowher says it’s nonsense. Is Ben playing with broken toes and Cowher is protecting or is Ben playing the Diva?
2) During an 06 or 07 game a female announcer on the side line states Ben has a 104 degree temperature but will play. Ben later says it was 100.4 not 104 but the reporter and the network stick by their story.
3) Madden claims Ben has a seperated shoulder. The Steelers say it’s sore. Semantics in play as the injury could be clarified as a “minor” shoulder seperation. Ben says he spoke to no one. Tomlin demands to know where the network got this info. Again, is Ben hurt and FO is protecting him or is Ben being a Diva?
I’m going with Ben as the tough guy. But, it seems odd that these stories keep surfacing every year.
Thoughts?

Ben said
he had a separated AC joint in his shoulder which then somehow became a separated shoulder. If he had a separated shoulder he wouldn’t be able to lift his arm above his head.

I think
Ben is saying he is injured just to make people hink he is this tough guy, who even with an injury gets the job done. Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t trade Ben for another QB but just for him to tone down the fake injuries. I mean after the texans game he said he thought he broke his arm from the sack. And also in that game he got up limping like he hurt his knee. Ben is still a great QB though.

Well...
I think the whole thing is stupid…Nothing against the posters over the topics, thanks for putting these up. Ben has always been a bit of a dramatic guy when it comes to injuries, and I say so what. The guy can play, the guy can lead, and he has played through whatever injuries he has had before. I mean come on the guy took a car to the face and is even better than he was before. The fact is that Ben can flat out play. And think of it this way, Terry Bradshaw had his little flaws here and there, nobody is perfect, I mean hell we could be Tennessee right now with a QB going through hell right now, or Romo with his off the field romance. I really could care less as long as #7 can produce and lead us to Super Bowls.

Bradshaw Makes Ben Look Like Kevin Colbert
Bradshaw would talk to six different reporters and tell them six different things. The next day the papers were filled with six different story lines. It was actually hillarious. These days everything is so proper it isn’t so funny. I don’t think Ben is putting on a show though. I think the guy gets banged up, like Brad did. Ben has already been sacked HARD by Mario Williams twice, Shaun Rogers and two other times. I think we need to be more concerned with keeping him clean than who says what.

QBs are just dramatic. I guess if you are interviewed that many times you just start saying anything that comes to your head.
