Big Ben vs Eli

I thought some of you would like this.  I'm a horrible blogger but I promised myself I'd blog for one full year.

Basically, my friends and I have been in an argument for 4 years now on who is a better QB:  Big Ben or Elisha Eli Manning.  I honestly think it's a no brainer.  Ben does nothing but win and sans the bike accident, has been unreal.  Let me know your thoughts.

Go Steelers and go Big Ben!

Uncomparible.

Let’s put it like this:
Ben Roethlisberger- Arguably a Top 3 QB in the entire league.
Eli Manning- Arguably Top 3 QB in his divison (behind Romo and McNabb)

Sure, call it a Steeler bias. But that stats don’t lie. Ben has been better from Day 1 and will continue to be a better starting QB for years to come. Let’s face it, if Eli wasn’t a Manning then he would be your average NFL starter. But because he is a Manning, he got an extension on being labeled with the “Bust” tag. Look at the Giants Super Bowl run. It was the their outstanding pass rush that won them the championship. Eli wasn’t a huge factor in the games leading upto the Big game. Ben played a vital role in the Steeler’s playoff success, although he played sub-par in the Super Bowl win over Seattle.
My last point will be to look at the situations each QB is in. If we switched Ben for Eli would the Steelers be as successful today? I think not. Does anyone see Eli Manning scrambling and looking to make plays outside of the pocket or with his feet? I don’t, at least not effectively. He’s a Manning. He wants to sit inside a lofty pocket, and make his reads like a good little Manning. Ben is tough, gritty, and a playmaker. I wouldn’t want to have any other QB in the league in Ben’s spot. I feel blessed that we came up with a diamond in the rough, the 3rd QB taken in the draft mind you. He has already taken us to the promise land once, and I forsee it at least once again in the near future.

no contest

Eli stepped up last season during the playoffs but if he even dreams that he’s in the same league as Big Ben, he should wake up and apologize.

Funny

Know who Tim Couch is? Eli Manning has a WORST career QB Rating then him and he wasnt the number 1 pick on an expansion team with no talent around him like Couch. What does that say about Eli?

Only Peyton Manning and Brady have had better numbers since 2004, when Ben entered the league. Without Brady’s monster year last year, Ben would be number 2.

Ben is number 4 all time in YPA, 5 in Rating. 9 in CMP %, and 18th in TD %(1st Active)

Eli is 102nd in Rating, 180th in YPA, 90th in TD % and 107th in CMP%

Ben also had the 4th best 3 game post season playoff stretch statistically in NFL history behind Montana, Simms, and Aikman.

WOW

i did not know that. i think when its all said and done ben’s stats will be up there with the greatest qb’s of all time and lead the steelers to multiple superbowl victories earning the title of best steelers quarterback ever and a spot in the hall of fame behind other (recent) steeler greats like bettis, ward, woodson, cowher and hopefully lebeau while eli is remembered as son of archie brother of payton p.s. ever hear that skit on kroq where they make fun of eli because he looks like a 7th grade retard its hillarious!

One each

Superbowls baby. They each have one.

Its all about the rings, and that’s what I love about players like Roethlisberger. The only stats/awards etc he cares about are the Lombardi trophies. He’s a true competitor, that’s what he is.

In the end, he’ll have the most.

He’s our leader now, veteran, got the contract, named Captain, settled down very, very nicely last season from his off year, its time to go.

here we go, Steelers!!!
