Around SBN: Raiders' GM Begins The Purge

It starts now!

With the past week's games (good for us, bad for you) over, it starts now for the Monday Night Football game coming up next week. This time willl not repeat last year's debacle, when you guys took advantage of our injury decimated defense and aging, inefficient QB to destroy my Ravens in a game that was over by the end of the first quarter. Now, we're healthy and our defense is back to 2006 form, while you guys are hurting and your QB's shoulder is one big hit away from being on the sidelines.

Looking forward to trading barbs all week with your guys, as your fans are among the best in the league. It'll be nice to be expecting a great game for a change, after our horrible season in 2007. First place on the line, guys. It starts now, so bring it!

Easy Fella. . .

You’ve beaten two bad teams from Ohio in 3 weeks and have a largly unknown/unproven QB. “But he’s 2-0 just like Ben when he started!!! Didn’t you see his rushing TD vs. the Bungles?!?!?!” The reality is Flacco’s QB rating is under 60 and he hasn’t had to throw over 130yds in a game yet. Pittsburgh’s going to shut the Ravens O down.

That being said, I did watch the Steelers this week too, so can anyone say Auburn/MSU? I’m going with 9-5 win for the Steelers.

Oh, and one other thing. . . as a Ravens fan, how much MORE would it suck to lose to a Steelers team wearing yellow helmets AGAIN for the second straight year? This is a throwback game for us, right?

re: it starts now

do us steeler fans a favor and knock a couple of our o-line-women out of the game. if you could start with simmons, that would be great. i don’t necessarily mean physically injure them, just call them names and tease them…they’re so mentally weak they’ll probably start crying.

Easy Rex

I know its hard not to be excited to after watching a mediocre Eagles defense that got decimated by the Cowboys a week ago, completely dismantle our offense on Sunday… but pump your brakes. I can guarantee that these guys are professional athletes and coaches and Mike Tomlin will have our troops fired up and ready to go. As we speak right now, I’m sure that we are working on a scheme that will allow us to get rid of the ball earlier and take some of the pressure off of Ben. ( At least that is my hope)
Dont forget that you have a rookie headcoach and a rookie qb at the helms and that will not bode well for the Ravens. We got a pretty good defense of our own that can put plenty of pressure on an offense with the best of them…so bring it on! I like the Steelers chances. The chances of us getting embarassed on National TV , not to mention two weeks in a row is unlikely.

i wouldn't call the eagles defense mediocre

in consecutive weeks they shut down marion barber and FWP

Shut who down?

The Eagles may have kept Barber to 60-ish yards on the ground, but if an RB gets over 100 yards in any way plus a TD, I don’t think that counts as shutting him down. And they got to shut down FWP only because he rushed 13 times total; even those were weak play calls.

That being said, they certainly don’t deserve the elite status yet with two good performances against weak offenses (aka the Rams and Steelers o-line) sandwiching a torching by an offense that probably shouldn’t have done that well.

Ric, I hope you’re right about someone working on a scheme to counter what we saw on Sunday. $100M is a lot of money to have laying on a stretcher.

Slow your roll Rexx!

All of you Ravens fans are so bitter! But realistically, I would be too if I pulled for a team of losers, year after year! I know you all are salivating after our performance this past Sunday (and I agree it was a piss poor outing) but I assure you, that is not the team you will see. Let’s be honest, you can’t possibly think you are going to walk into our house and steam roll us! Earth to Rexx, earth to rexx, come back to reality! You have beat the 0-3 Browns, and the 0-3 Bengals. Come Monday, we will see what you have! My guess is it isn’t going to be all that impressive, and you will return home losers, again!

Ravens offense is garbage

Im not claiming victory here but i wouldnt be that confident Rexx. Your offense as a unit is even more sad than the Steelers O-line. Our offense is at least capable. Plus we too have a defense out for blood. If you plan on winning it better come via the defensive TD because Flacco hasnt faced anything close to the defense hes going up against in his LIFE.
