Rashard "Delicious" Mendenhall

I wish I could find the video but last night I was watching "Welcome to the NFL, Rookie, Volume I."  Rashard Mendenhall was one of the 5 featured players during the show.  In the show they detailed some of his fumbling issues and even showed the players trying to help resolve his issue.

But the best part of the show for me was that for some reason nobody on the Steelers staff or Rashard Mendenhall himself can figure out why Mike Tomlin has developed the nickname of "Delicious" for Rashard Mendenhall.

During the show you can here Tomlin say things like, "Where the hell is delicious," or "Nice Run delicious".  It had me so laughing hard.

Anybody have any ideas of why Rashard is nicknamed Delicious?

And what other creative nicknames can we give this beast?

Maybe...

It’s because he carries the football like a “delicious” loaf of bread…

Kings of Comedy

I was talking about this with one of my colleagues at work – he actually saw the show (which I didn’t) and immediately said that Tomlin was calling him Delicious from a Kings of Comedy skit. Apparently Cedric the Entertainer does some bit where he outlines different nicknames from the hood – maybe try Youtube to find it. In any case – sounds about right to me.

When can we get Big SNack to do the Milshake Dance ala Peter Griffin?

To the tune of the classic children's song "This Old Man" (the part with nick nack patty whack)

Big Snack, Silverback, take the Dawg Pound's Bone, the Black and Gold sent the Brownies crying home.

Awesome

“Ain’t no grown man going to call another grown man delicious.” Unless the grown man is Coach Tomlin and the other grown man – is a big Rook with slippery moves and slippery hands.

De-lecious.

so our backfield...

…now consists of “Big” “Fast” and “Delicious”? What is that, a new Taco Bell burrito? Isn’t that kind of dangerous on a team with a guy named “Big Snack”?
