Around SBN: Steve McNair Dead - Former NFL QB Shot and Killed

The Whis

Hey BTSC! Happy New Year. Sorry I haven't been able to post much lately. Me and the girlfriend bought each other Akita puppies for the Holidays. I didn't realize how my life was going to change! No time for anything as I watch my 10 week old Samurai 24/7. She's doing the same around the corner with Sam's sister from the litter Muki. Utmost respect to all the "real" parents out there. Can't wait until the puppies are a bit older and I can get back to some semblance of the wonderful life I had.

In between separating the 2 dogs I caught the games yesterday. Felt the Titans weren't all that and wondered if we would get a shot at them after they disrespected the TT. Guess karma caught up with fat LenDale. What really impressed me yesterday was Ken Whisenhunt. He was one of the few Steelers OC I actually liked. Congrats to the Whiz, who now has 2 more Playoff wins than Coach T.

That brings me to my point. Today's game against the Chargers will be a brawl. I will be rooting for our Steelers to get a W (3-2 baby!) and advance. You may disagree but there is pressure on Coach Tomlin to get this done. Get a W and it is vindication for the Rooney's for passing on Ken Whisenhunt and hiring the unknown Tomlin. This is Tomlin's biggest test. HUGE. Two home playoff losses in two years is not the stuff of legends. While I was happy with his first year (10-6 and a playoff appearence) and happy with his second (vast improvement in pass rush and specal teams and a 12-4 record) it all comes down to January wins. Whisenhunt 2 Tomlin 0 (for now) Hoping the Steelers come to play with their A game. Hoping they don't turn it over and play solid D and ST. Hoping they bring vindication to the owners, the city and the Steelers Nation. Here We Go Steelers!

I couldn’t be happier than if both Tomlin and Whiz both got 3 playoff victories this year.

how do you like the akitas?

They were one of the breeds on my short list

Like The Steelers LB's

High energy, powerful dogs. Currently they are 10 weeks old and about 18 pounds each. Beautiful puppies and I met the parents who are also beautiful.
I have been cautioned to make sure we spend the time training as they are fiercely loyal to their owners but can be ornery with strangers. Anyone have Cesar Millan’s number? I am also spending money I don’t have to secure the 50 compound so they can not escape into the neighborhood when they grow to their adult weight of plus 100 LBS each. The female is more vocal and fearless than the male, but the male will be an ox.
Guess with the Cali compound, the tall Cali blonde girlfriend and the Akita dogs I’m a budding Rock Star. Move over Van Halen and Cornell. 50’s in da house!

akitas are neat dogs

important to train them well like you heard – mostly they’re rough on other dogs more than other humans… Friend of mine had an Akita that was heck on the neighborhood’s dogs…

Is Whis doing the inverse of what he did with us in the playoffs? They’re sticking with the run more than they have all season. Of course six turnovers doesn’t hurt either.

I will say this, Whis knows how to get it done in the playoffs.

He just needed some help to get there.

The Titans

Let’s not anyone forget. Next year they come to our house. The date and time has yet to be set, but I’ll venture to guess it will either be week one or late in the season to add to the drama that already exists.

If they were disturbed about the amount of TTs this last time, just wait.

Hopefully, if we do play them in week one,

It will be the kickoff to the ’09 season on Thursday night. How sweet would that be?

We're all fans of Wiz 'n dump.....

…having to suffer through Arians’ unimaginative offense.

I know the odds against it are enormous, but I’d love to meet up with the Wiz in Tampa.

Incidentally, my dog is a wiz ’n dump. Every morning, he takes one of each. And when I get home from work in the afternoon, as well.

W v T

I prefer Mr T big time over The Whis. This team is on the edge of DYNASTY time and it all starts tonight. The Whis has done wonders in Az but so has Mr T.

One step at a time Sch. Got to win a playoff game to advance to the next round first. Tomlin is still in search of his first January W. At any rate, love your optimism.
150 minutes and counting. As Chick Hearn used to say “It’s nervous time at the Forum!” Hope we’re putting it in the fridge about 4:30 PM out here in the west.

Just perfect

By my calculation, the door was closed, the butter was getting hard, and the jello was jigglin’.
