Calling all Burgh Natives.....

Hello all!  I am trying to get up there Sunday for the game!  What are some sweet places I could watch it?  Preferably somewhere downtown, not family oriented : ), and where I would be in the company of swillers of thy beer.  I don't mean to get too specific, but I don't like tame places as I am prone to have sudden outbursts that may include, but are certainly not limited to:  swearing, whistling, fist pumping, jumping, Terrible Towel waving, heaving objects, burping, etc.   I am pretty familiar with Station Square, but outside of that, I get pretty lost.  If you know any places that may be a good fit, I'd appreciate the input!

HERE WE GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watch the game almost every sunday at hines ward’s bar on the south side (always an easy bus over from downtown). It’s a great place to be for a game. http://www.barsmart.com/bar_detail.cfm?id=1800

All of the ones on the north side (the side of the allegheny the stadium is on) will be pretty packed as well, but I can’t say there’s any particular rec up there, they are all the same. I tend to prefer the south side because I live there, the places are all locals at gametime, it’s cheaper, and the bars are less rubber-stamped. Station square is for tourists ;) To each their own though.

The downtown area of which you speak (between the allegheny and the monongahela) have very few bars and likely won’t be very crowded – go to the north side or south side.

Man the description of the place you are looking for...

leaves a lot of room for some undesirable establishments. Be careful.

True. I wouldn’t suggest he head out to a bar in homewood.

We should suggest to port authority that they set up a “special” shuttle for ravens fans to keep them “safe”.

This doesn’t look like Heinz field, but I do hear fireworks…

True

I’m only half serious in the post. Just didn’t want a real family oriented place, that’s all.

I know

I was joking too.

my grandpas house!

Hes on top of the hill on the north side. You can see his house from the stadium. If you go up to the 3rd floor with some binoculars you can see parts of the game.

He has basic cable, some beer, and its really cold. He likes to keep his heating bill down. Bring layers.

Electricity

Is the whole town just buzzin’ or what? I can only imagine the atmosphere in Pitt. during a playoff run! I wish I was there….

Primanti's!

I’ve watched many games from Primanti Bros in Cranberry. Any bar you go to will be full of fans though. There’s one at Heinz and PNC Park but the original ones are downtown (dahntahn). I don’t know where you’re staying but you can look up the locations:
