Bad Dream

So I had a really bad dream last night, one that actually woke me up feeling all nervous, and ruined an otherwise great sleep.

It was a playoff game at Heinz Field, and the weather was typical of January in Pittsburgh (think the Chargers game from earlier this year).  Anyhow, my dream joined the game in progress early in the fourth.  The Steelers were down 14-0, when they put a really long drive together that ate up the clock.  With around 7:00 to go, we got down to their red zone, when we stalled.  Facing fourth and goal, what do we do?  Kick a bloody field goal.  It was shades of something Cowher would do.  Then the Browns got the ball back and put together a drive that went well past the two minute warning, and all I could keep wondering was, how could we let the Browns exorcise their demons in our house, IN THE PLAYOFFS?  Apparently we got the ball back and they stopped us for a safety, because they ended up winning 16-3.

It was horrific, and it made me realize just how much we should savor our streak of victories over those guys (even this last game that meant nothing), because one day, they WILL exorcise their demons and beat us, possibly in a scenario not unlike my dream.

You've got nothing to worry about

By the time the Browns become capable of being in my nightmares, dimentia will have taken over my brain. Now, if your dream had involved a crucial 4th and 1, in the red zone with us trailing by 4, under two minutes remaining, no timeouts, staring at the BAL Defense….good luck getting back to sleep!

Dreams

I actually have dreams about us losing almost every week. Usually the friday or saturday prior to the game. No joke, its usually by a small margin, and sometimes not even the teams we are really going to play.

For instance the night before the browns I dreamt we lost to the cardinals by 3. 17-14.

I find these dreams mean very little, although I wake up and am usually quite alarmed.

i love your fanaticism. following the steelers isn’t just a nice hobby or pasttime for me. it is all-consuming. i also have both dreams and nightmares about the steelers. usually my pleasant dreams involve me playing wide receiver for the stillers, while my nightmares involve losses to the patriots or ravens. or big ben lying on the turf. oh wait, that happened last week. but then it turned out ok. i think.

I had a nightmare

That Beerman figured out how to hack into BTSC and cleaned out all our old fanposts and replaced them with the video of BB getting concussed agaisnt the browns. It was stuck on replay and I couldn’t log out, turn off my computer, or unplug it. Then I woke up and realized that Beerman is MIA. Hooray!

I'll tell you what's a nightmare

… leaving one of the finest and most appreciative football cultures in history behind for a rare opportunity to lead a broken franchise, working your ass off, taking the team to their first playoff appearance in a thousand years, not just that but a home game… and not being able to sell out the stadium. Are you effin kidding me?
