Hines Ward+Steelers = Super Bowl Win

Lets not get it twisted Steeler Nation (and yes I used the early '00's slang twisted even though nobody says that word anymore, unless your still trying to be hip like me :-) Pittsburgh needs effective on the field play from Hines Ward if they're going to win the Super Bowl. And when I say effective I mean Psycho Ward has to be playing at a minimum 75% effective rate.  Then and only then can the offense work consistently enough to put up points and beat the Cardinals

3 TD's and at least 2 or 3 field goals should be enough to beat AZ but it all goes back to Mr. Ward (and of course the continued dominance of the Steel Curtain II D), if he can muster up the energy to stay in the game the whole time and not go out for any significant period of time then Big Ben and o.c. Bruce Arians can mix up the play calling and get key down the field production from all the offensive playmakers

Yeah Ward will help but...

I think the absolute key to this game is going to be running the football. We need FWP to have a fantastic game. With him running wild, not only will we move the ball but we keep Kurt Warner and Larry Fitz on the bench. If we eat up clock, this game is done.

When I say who dey, you say we dey.

True

but the chance of the happening diminishes without Ward on the field.

What happens if Hines doesn't play?

I’ve seen a lot of players pronounce that they’ll be out there but come game time they can’t .. sometimes injuries aren’t too much so I’m not 100% cert Hines will be out there .. and I’m worried about our passing games with no Hines ..

I know I’m probably worrying for nothing because we should beat the Cards hands down .. but I want to see #86 on the field on the first and last snaps of the game ..

I agree

In part. I don’t like the thought of our passing game without Ward. I also don’t like running outside (which we don’t do much) without Ward either. I don’t know about winning hands down though.

With or without Ward: I can’t help but to be intrigued with Sweed. That kid has some serious skills but drops a lot of passes. If he could catch some crucial passes and do a good job blocking he could be a wild card in the mix.

Hines Ward

finished the AFCCG with 3 catches for 55 yards, giving him 74 receptions for 1,021 yards and 8 TDs in the playoffs in just 13 games. In a 16 game season this projects out to 91 catches for 1,257 yards and 10 TDs.

These are pretty good stats against a whole season worth of playoff-caliber teams. In. fact, Hines Ward has had only one season statistically better in 2002. This just in:

Hines ward is EVEN BETTER in the playoffs.

Will he be there?

What’s the word on the knee injury? Will he be back or not, or are they not saying yet?

From what I understand

He’s not even going to attempt to practice until Monday. IMO, if we see Hines even in limited practice next week, he will start. If he doesn’t practice at all, I highly doubt he plays. We are all waiting to xee including him.
