Sunday playoff games open thread

Hopefully we will be treated to another day of exciting football.  I have not seen much of several of the playoff teams, especially Miami and Minnesota.

Baltimore was moving on offense and then fumbled.  Now Miami just picked up a first down.  I wonder how often the announcers will use the phrase "wildcat formation" during this game.  My guess is about five thousand times.  Ooh Miami just made a big play.  1st and goal.  Three good plays by Balt's D and Miami settles for a FG.  Okay hopefully I'm over the word limit now so I can stop rambling.

by Cdsumm on Jan 4, 2009 1:22 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yeah

they are heavily favored. That’s ok, I’ll take San Diego at home!!! Actually, I like where we are for next week either way!

YEah...Balt D is dangerous

as much as I hate to admit it! Aside from the traffic, snooty ass people, and outrageous cost of living, I guess it’s ok…lol. I wont call it home forever though!

Miami's D is gonna have to play great today. I don't think they are going to score much against Baltimore

Does Miami have good special teams? I thought special teams were the difference in the Indy/SD game last night.

Yeah,

Colon = not good…and why do they say “cologne”….his name is colon!!! I don’t go to buy a new fragrance and ask if they have any colon!

Good deal!

Lot of work around here for that! (DC)

by Cdsumm on Jan 4, 2009 1:56 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

This

game is actually a bit uneventful thus far. There should be a big play shortly.

by Cdsumm on Jan 4, 2009 2:00 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yep

and Bess is hurt now they’re down to two

by schnifin on Jan 4, 2009 2:05 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yes...im calling it this early, especially if they score here!

They don’t have the manpower to come back on this D from 10 or 14 down!

Being the #2 seed has worked out better than #1 if Baltimore goes on to win.

We get SD (9-8) and Tennessee has to play Baltimore (12-5). Let those two teams bash eches others brains in while we take care of business at home in Pittsburgh weather,

we were due for a let doown after beating the pats, cowboys, and ravens in consecutive weeks.

LIke i said, baltimore and tennessee are going to beat each other up. SD will neither beat us nor beat us up.

by Jonny B. on Jan 4, 2009 2:49 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

THIS JUST IN . . .

Chad Pennington stinks

by houksyndrome on Jan 4, 2009 2:44 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

They're playing a REAL team.

Not one of those PATsies (pun intended) from the AFC east.

Nice TD

One handed catch by Brown was pretty sweet

by tdp992 on Jan 4, 2009 3:20 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

jeez

all they need was a fg

by SteelBuckeye on Jan 4, 2009 3:34 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Hate to

say it, but the Ravens are playing an avg game, and still beating the snot out of the fins

by SteelBuckeye on Jan 4, 2009 3:41 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

oh well

miami couldn’t expect to turn it over 4 (+?) times and win…

by acrollet on Jan 4, 2009 4:00 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

so

who else is rooting for the vikings today? I think we match up against them better, and want no further part of philly’s D…

by acrollet on Jan 4, 2009 4:03 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Vikes have a tough D-Line. Without a Williams they could still give us fits.

by StinkBomb on Jan 4, 2009 4:47 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I hate the ravens

Once again the ravens get a game handed to them. Kudos for catching those INT’s, but really now?

Pennington overthrows a wide open man that tips it up to the dirty birds
Pennington for no reason throws into triple coverage twice?

The sad fact of it all was that without the ed reed TD, and a FG instead of that 4th pick they could have been within a score near the end.. Absolutely retarded.

Oh well I predicted a Ravens win anyway, so far I’m 2 for 2 on the AFC side.

And the phins really suck at covering a punt or kick might I add.

As far as the next game

Just felt like splitting posts here.

I think the Vikes should beat the iggles. I personally dont see either team going all the way. Doesnt matter to me. But I think good run defense can win games. Unfortunately the iggles hardly run it. But I could see the Vikings winning against Carolina possibly. They have the best run D in the NFC and that is the key ingredient to taking down one of the top power house teams.

Still, I think it ends up being NYG or Carolina coming out of it all.

by Mechem on Jan 4, 2009 5:24 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

carolina is scary

even if you can shut down their run, steven smith has a way of burning people…
