Words of Encouragement to BIG BEN

Write your post as if Big Ben is going to (and probably does)  read it himself.  As the title reads Word of Encouragement - Advise.  He and all of us would be fools to think that we dont need this all of the time.  Even an All Pro like Ben can use it - and sometimes - MANY of the times we see differently than the coaches do because they are locked into a certain train of thought. It take humility to take advise and it takes pride to think we dont need it - when soon after there comes a fall.

Dont criticize other peoples advise just give your own.  Place your post as if only Ben is reading it.

Keep it positive even if talking about a negative.

BEN

1.  Play 10 yards at a time even if the play is a deep ball. All you need is that next 1st down marker. Errors/ Turn Overs come from trying to do to much where or when nothing is able to be done.

2.  Scramble - Why have you backed off from being a rushing threat?  Its ok to scramble and slide.  If the advise has been "DONT do this cause you could get hurt.  Let your line protect you" - Thats comedic because you NOT scrambling is getting you killed for the past two seasons. You have a mental clock and you know when that 3 to 3.5 seconds is up. If you feel that pocket breaking down BOLT. Your idol tore defenses up keeping his legs moving - even if it was three yards. And Elway was slow as molasses.

3.  Dont force the BIG play!  Allow the big play to happen.  Your recievers will find the holes - let them and trust them to do their jobs for you and with you.

3.5. Use your underneath check downs - please or - refer to # 2.

4. It is better to have a BIG DRIVE than a BIG PLAY. 10 yards at a time.

If you are ...

not truly 100% healthy please tell Coach Tomlin early enough that Byron can get preparatory repetitions during practice. If you are ready, then all the best to you—“You can do it!”

Dear Ben,

Please be alert ALL game. If you feel your head trying to make its way inside your rectum, please do all in your power to diagnose, and prevent it!!! :P

BB

Please don’t eff this up for me. I will be criticized and ridiculed for weeks by all my Charger friends. 2 Tds early on should do the trick.

Mr. Roethlisberger

We all know what you are capable of. I am not the one to give advice to you, so please just play your ass off and beat the everliving shit out of the chargers, have a nice day

Win

I know you’ve got a few more Ws somewhere deep within your inner being … bring ‘em out for a few more weeks. San Diego’s biggest weakness is their secondary, so when those big plays show up, go and get ‘em. Also, don’t be afraid to attack their strengths as well. Run that ball right into their beach-boy hearts.

If possible, win in the final seconds after an otherwise frustrating game. And try to do it with a controversial play that will be replayed and discussed ad infinitum by thousands of folks who have never played the game, but make plenty of dough sitting around discussing those kind of plays.

I haven’t seen my little brother in a couple of years now … he’s an overworked lawyer in downtown Manhattan, but he’s making the trip out to Cali to visit in a week and a half (i.e. conference championship weekend) … it’d be absolutely incredible if he and I were able to watch a Steelers game together … it’s up to you guys. Go out & short circuit those Bolts.

And of course, take care of yourself out there. We love ya not just for this season, but for many, many seasons to come.

Good luck to you Ben

Here begins the road to your 2nd of 5 or 6 SB championships as a Steeler. My advice would be to ignore all this advice, and just do what you were born to do – and that’s WIN FOOTBALL GAMES!
Anyway – it’s great to see you healthy and happy this week – best of luck to you on Sunday.

If you don't produce

James Harrison already vowed to give you a neck massage after the game. I would avoid that if I were you
