favre ignores his OC

so i'm just as sick of favre as everyone else, but...

i was watching the SoundFX show on nfl network.  at the end of this week's show, they show the vikings OC call a play into favre.  "Far Left 69T.  First down!"  which i assume is the OC telling brett to go for the first down on third down with 8 seconds left to get a little closer and setup for a last play.

as that last play starts, the WR along the sideline has the defender playing way off him, so favre had a quick pass to the sideline for the first down and the WR would have been able to step out easily to stop the clock.

favre pumps to him, then looks down field.  ultimately, he makes the pass, wins the game, and old white sports journalists have a collective orgasm...

but if lewis doesn't make that incredible catch at the end line, favre would take a lot of heat for not getting the easy quick 1st down and for ignoring the OC.

having said that, the guy is a hall of famer, even without the journalists fawning all over him.  he made the play, and good for him.  but, as close as the stillers are to 3-0, favre was that close to blowing that game at the end.
