Are the steelers able to finish 12 and 4 this year?
Just a thought looking at the rest of our schedule, Am I being to optimistic? Our D doesn't have the POP we are used to seeing, I would like to think that once Palamalou returns we get back to our old D but he is only one of 11. Would like to hear your thoughts on this topic after an ok performance with the Lions today.... I had us picked by 36 points! Let me hear your thoughts.

Hmmm, your poll only let me vote for "No."
So I did. :)
I would have anyways, but did think you should know, so you get a less biased survey.

i'd say yes
a lot of ppl really look down on the lions, but one thing you will notice from all their games this year is that they don’t give up regardless of the opponent and the score. just cuz they made a comeback at the end isn’t as big as ppl are making it out to be. our D gave up only one touchdown and 2 field goals the entire game. plus they actually stopped the lions last drive with 3 straight sacks.
if we split against the packers & vikings, split against the ravens and win against the rest (which is pretty do-able) we’ll be 12-4. steelers will be looking for revenge @ home against the bengals and the dolphins will really struggle without pennington. the main potential bump in the road would be the broncos. but i’m curious what they’d do against a D that’s hands down better than the pats or cowboys.

Unfortunately NOT.......
The biggest challange I currently see for the Steelers is 2 weeks away.. Definitely not looking past the Browns, but the real test of the 2009 STEELERS and ability to make it back to the playoffs lies in the Vikings and FAVRE..
If we can hold our own in that game, win would be nice going into bye week. But a close lose would illustrate what we all believe is that this team can make it 7.
Just my 2 cents after watching another HORRIFING 2nd half against THE LIONS..

And I think you are underestimating that offensive line
It’s going to be very hard to get to Favre in that game. He’s been in the game for more than 17 years so I doubt we’re going show him anything he has hasn’t seen before on defense. They won’t be able to run the ball, so it’s gonna be all on him.
I also don’t think you’ve seen Pat and Kevin Williams play. Trai Essex better come ready to play because they will eat him alive if he’s not on his A game.

AP for 90 yards. I’m a realist
Bring a towel to the game. Black or gold or yellow. If you don't have one buy one, If you can't buy one, dye one!!!

He won't get that much.
We’ll be able to really tell how good their running game this weekend.

Possible....
I think the talent is there to go 11-5 to 12-4. Troy coming back should give us a better understanding of where we are at defensively. The defense has not looked great but isn’t really giving up that many points either. The offense looks like it is on the brink of being outstanding. There is definately work to be done as we start playing some better teams. We don’t need to win by 50 but we also can’t keep letting teams back in it and expect to have a better W/L ratio than we currently have. Just good enough to win is just one mistake away from being just bad enough to lose.

?
On offense? Definitely. Special teams? Well, outside of the Chicago game, they haven’t been inspiring, but they’ve been good enough. Defense? Wouldn’t have thought I’d say this six weeks ago, but this unit has to dramatically improve.

I am amazed 19 people so far have actually voted on this one choice “poll”.

Could only lose 1 of 3 to Minn, Den, Mia with this senerio so looks tough to get 12-4 but possible.

Does it occur
to many that the five teams we’ve played so far were trying REALLY, REALLY hard to WIN the football game?
Given that we’re also the defending champions, and that each team we’ve faced so far has dramatically improved over their play last year (except the Terrible Towel-cursed Tits), and our lack of Troy P. AND the absence of Larry Foote, Bryant McFadden, Nate Washington, opponents focusing on our two best pass-rushers, a new starter at ILB, and a milieu of other reasons i’d say we’re doing pretty OK.
Add in the fact that we had some pretty amazing “good luck” last year, we are due to struggle sometime.
It’s a good thing it’s a 16-game season or a lot of Steelers “fans” would’ve moved on to their “other favorite team” by now….

They could go 14-2, as they have only two loses currently
13 years and no playoff wins for the Dallas Cowboys... SWEET!

I like the optimism
but would concede a close loss in the regular season to a better team than the Bengals. Just so I don’t have to hear how they are the last team to have beaten the repeating SB champs all year…still got that bengals friend, he’s not the classiest of “winners”.
