McBean with Broncos

In today's chat, Ed Bouchette made a comment on Ryan McBean that somewhat jostled me. He pointed out that McBean is now a started for the Denver Broncos. Isn't this the same McBean who was completely lost playing for us? Now he's playing for one of the better defenses in the NFL...

Ed Bouchette: Hello, Madrid. I'm not sure Harris -- he says now, by the way, that it's spelled Sunny -- was the next Reggie White and deserved to be kept ahead of Nick Eason. Maybe with Aaron Smith out for awhile, keeping Eason, a veteran, might turn out to be the smart move. However, Ryan McBean, cut by the Steelers, is starting at DE for the unbeaten Broncos.

I saw that. That is amazing

Glad you posted it

Who’s better? Ryan McBean or Sunny Harris?

I have no idea.

Who is the best DE for a 3-4 Defense out there from all the Practice Squads from all 32 teams?

I have no idea.

I hope the Steelers Front Office can find a good one out there.

Which team has the best defensive line in the NFL?

The Giants?

I’m not sure

Which are the Top 5 teams with the best defensive lines in the NFL?

If any of these teams have a DE on their Practice Squad that can play in a 3-4 Defense, than they might be pretty good.

Since they are coming from a team that has a very good DL, makes sense that they would be deep talent wise in that position.

Can a lighter fast DT from a 4-3 play DE on a 3-4?

I know the Steelers draft some DL from College for OLB, Lamar Woodley for example.

But this is vice-versa.

This guy is good

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travis_LaBoy

Says he got a torn biceps muscle …

On March 3, 2008, the Arizona Cardinals signed LaBoy to a five-year $22 million contract with $7.5 million guaranteed. LaBoy got off to a hot start with four sacks in the first four games in 2008 but a biceps injury slowed him the rest of the season. Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt confirmed that LaBoy will need surgery to repair his torn biceps.1 LaBoy was released on April 28, 2009.

If he’s healed up, give him a medical checkup and sign him

Us taking a player from AZ

is a nice twist too

maybe not. I guess he’s injury prone

Arizona has a very good defensive line

I would look at the Practice Squads of the Top 5 Teams with the best defensive lines, and hopefully he will not be a rookie. Atleast 1 year NFL experience would be good

LaBoy doesn't fit...

Not because he isn’t good, but because he’s smaller than Woodley, and he’s an OLB in the 3-4. If we needed a linebacker maybe… maybe. But we don’t, we need a 300 pounder to do some dirty work.

LaBoy is 249 pounds.

From a Cardinals fan

LaBoy isn’t a fit for a 3-4 defense. His best role is as a situational pass rusher in a 4-3. He had one job last year and that was to pressure the QB but instead he decided to spend the season in the trainers office. He’s way, way to small to play a 3-4 DE spot and to make matters worse he’s more of a finesse pass rusher.

Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Who would of thought...

A young player who at times seemed lost or didn’t perform well right away would ever be any good at all? I mean, if you’re not good right away, you’re a bust, and might as well bag groceries somewhere.
