9 Insane Predictions for the Vikings Game
1. Jared Allen sacks Ben five times.
2. Adrian Peterson has one run for over 40 yards, then is held to less than 3 yards per rush after that.
3. Heath Miller sets a personal record for most catches and yards in a game.
4. The Steelers jump out to an early lead, as usual.
5. Down by 11 points entering the 4th quarter, Favre leads two scoring drives, the second of which gives the Vikings their first lead of the game.
6. On Favre's final drive of the night, which would put the Steelers down by two scores, he throws an INT to Polamalu, who runs it back deep into Packers' territory. But the refs make a terrible illegal block call against Ike Taylor and give the Steelers the ball inside their own ten, with less than two minutes to go.
7. Ben engineers a final drive that culminates in a long, impossible TD pass to Mike Wallace to end the game. Steelers win! Two dozen fans are hospitalized for cardiac arrhythmia.
8. Three days later, the entire nation gets sick of hearing sportscasters say that this game marks the moment that Favre "passed the torch" to a new generation of QB's.
9. Favre announces that this game convinced him to retire for good. He lies.

[Favre] throws an INT to Polamalu, who runs it back deep into Packers’ territory.
That would probably be the best accomplishment of Polamalu’s life considering Packer territory a few hundred miles away.
Oh, and Jared Allen, although good, will not have 5 sacks. I say 2.5.

Allen gets 1 sack and fails to get Ben on the ground on the other 4....
which is about what the Big boy does to everyone else…

Wishful thinking
If Ben holds the ball as long as he has been Allen’s tenacity will get to him 3 or 4 times. I expect about 25 carries from AD so the real question will be your CBs tackling.

on second thought
maybe not, huh??
Jared Allen was a complete non-factor in this game. If only his game could keep up with his mouth, then he’d be on camera more, which is all he is concerned with anyway. We refer to JA as Me, Me, Me.

DUDE… Lay the crack pipe down and back away… I know I am not the first to point this out to you but I was hoping to pile on. By the way, were you jerking it the whole time you were coming up with this fucked up scenario?

Dude,
It’s inevitable that the BungHoles will implode!! They suck! It’s just a matter of time, eh? Same story year in, year out.
The very existence of flamethrowers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, "You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done."

Well they don't suck
But the loss of Odom is going to hurt their defense a lot.

they don't suck

Allen will get half of that. And I agree with that Polamalu pick. Brett likes to throw a lot of quick slants and Troy will be right there to pick one.

steelers / vikings
although i ve been a die hard citizen of steeler nation for more than 45 years, i cannot honestly say that this years version is 1 of the elite teams in the NFL – at least they’re not playing that way. right now, i consider the steelers a good (as in better than average) team. i hate to admit it, but i don’t think they will defeat the vikings (i sure hope i m wrong). i know all about how (some say) they play to the level of their competition. thats not what great teams do & holding on for dear life in the 4th Q is not how they win.
the offense is tight, for the most part, but something (more than just Troy P) has been MIA for the entire season, thus far. here’s hopeing Dick L & Mike T can right the ship as we get ready 2 face minn & denver, and not far down the road, baltimore (twice), while trying 2 stay healthy.
i am also in favor of giving Sweed at the very least, the rest of this season to get his act together. o k, mike wallace has passed him & yes, he should b better by now. everyone develops at their own pace, yes, even in the NFL, & i still believe this guys upside potential is ginormous.
both the steelers defense & sweed need to step up to the plate & do what we know in our hearts they are capable of, to even have a shot at going deep into the playoffs. right now, there are simply too many teams playing MUCH better than we are (at least 3).

I think you’re nuts. The defense is not as good as last year, but the offense is a mile better. We are three crappy FGs away from being 6-0 right now.

nice— you motivated me to make some predictions of my own (though mine are not as funny)

So let's see how I did with my predictions...
1. Jared Allen sacks Ben five times.
Ben gets sacked only 3 times, and Jared Allen gets none of them. OMG, did our offensive line actually manage that?!
2. Adrian Peterson has one run for over 40 yards, then is held to less than 3 yards per rush after that.
Peterson’s longest run is 19 yards. Subtract that, and he averages 2.94 yards per rush. That makes me semi-psychic! You may now applaud me with one hand.
3. Heath Miller sets a personal record for most catches and yards in a game.
Heath does lead the team in receptions for this game with 6, but for only 38 yards. Respectable, but don’t make reservations for the Pro Bowl yet, Heath.
4. The Steelers jump out to an early lead, as usual.
Yes. One massive FG.
5. Down by 11 points entering the 4th quarter, Favre leads two scoring drives, the second of which gives the Vikings their first lead of the game.
Vikings do trail entering the 4th quarter, but by only one massive FG. Favre does lead two scoring drives — but in the opposite direction, with two turnovers returned for TD’s. Favre rules. Vikings only lead of the game was in the 2nd quarter. My prognostic abilities are not at their best here.
6. On Favre’s final drive of the night, which would put the Steelers down by two scores, he throws an INT to Polamalu, who runs it back deep into Packers’ territory. But the refs make a terrible illegal block call against Ike Taylor and give the Steelers the ball inside their own ten, with less than two minutes to go.
If I were any more wrong, I’d be writing for Sports Illustrated.
7. Ben engineers a final drive that culminates in a long, impossible TD pass to Mike Wallace to end the game. Steelers win! Two dozen fans are hospitalized for cardiac arrhythmia.
Mike Wallace does catch a beautiful 40-yard TD pass from Ben… in the second quarter. The game ends with Steelers slamming Favre into turf. Fans suffer cardiac arrhythmia anyway, since we wouldn’t be Steelers fans without continuous heart attacks.
8. Three days later, the entire nation gets sick of hearing sportscasters say that this game marks the moment that Favre “passed the torch” to a new generation of QB’s.
If I say it, does that count?
9. Favre announces that this game convinced him to retire for good. He lies.
Favre didn’t say this in words, but to paraphrase a Polamalu commercial, he said it with his eyes.
