Steelers vs. Vikings -- Predictions
I like fans making bold predictions. So I'm going to try a few of my own...
1) Adrian Peterson will not rush for more than a 100 yards, but will come very, very close. Steelers always play up or down to the competition. For the most part we contain the elite backs, but Peterson is still phenomenal so he will make us sweat a little.
2) We will pick off Favre at least twice (Polamalu will have one of those interceptions).
3) We will hold the Vikings to an insanely low amount of yards in the first half (under 100), and then they will adjust and explode in the fourth quarter.
4) Whichever team has the ball in the last two minutes wins this game.
5) Fright Night will get more rushing yards than Adrian Peterson.
6) Big Ben has another 300-yard passing game.
7) Vikings Defense will double-cover Hines Ward and bump Santonio Holmes in his routes, leaving Mike Wallace open to have another 100+ yard performance.
8) We will sack Favre at least 4 times.
9) Steelers O-line protects Ben but he still gets sacked 3 times for holding on the ball for too long.
10) Jeff Reed doesn't miss any field goals, then he goes out to celebrate after the game, gets drunk and punches a police officer in the face demanding him to dispense paper towels.

Plaxico is about 15 miles from me right now...
At Oneida Correctional in Rome, NY. I told my friend, a Giants fan, that he’d end up there whe he was sentenced. Started off in Rikers (yikes), moved to a holding facility, and then they sent him my way. I know a few guards there, they aren’t taking any chances with him, no general population for Plax.

Originally. I’m now in Whitesboro, only a five minute drive from home (When momma bird let the baby fly he only flew a short ways, haha.) Both towns are right between Utica and Rome. Maybe you start putting the best CB on him…but I don’t understand a double team. A double team is for a fast receiver who can beat you deep or can run a good route and beet you on a quick pattern.
Ward is a great route runner, but he is not a deep threat anymore. I just don’t see it making sense for a team to double him, especially with Holmes on the other side of the field.

Look for Heath to have a career game
I’m thinking 100+ yards and 2 TDs. He will surpass his 101yd 1 TD game against Miami in 2006.
I’d be surprised if they double Hines. Actually, it would be bad defense, since he is not a deep threat.
" I’m glad we play Pitt twice, and not Tenn this year." - Salty Browns Fan.
I don't think we get to Favre as much as you think
It’s much harder to get to him than it is for them to get to Ben. That o-line is very good, regardless of who’s playing QB. Peterson will get about 75 – 80 on 20 + carries.
by StoneColdSteel on Oct 21, 2009 10:56 AM EDT reply actions
Ben Roethlisberger has been sacked 16 times this season. Favre has been sacked 14. They’re pretty even. Their O-line is tremendous at run blocking, but maybe in our house we can confuse them a bit.

Predictions from a Vikes fan:
1. Peterson gets 120 and 2 TDs. Most of the yards coming on two runs.
2. Favre throws for 150 with 1 TD and 1 int.
3. Ben 300+ 3 TDs 2 ints.
4. Overtime.
5. Longwell field goal.
Pretty close
except for 5.
5. Longwell misses wide rigth and Ben drives the team down for a Reed fieldgoal.

In order for Peterson to get a long run, he has to get by Polamalu. He is not going to strong arm Troy, so I do not see two long runs happening.

My thoughtages overall
Neither run game really does much. I figure 80 yards for purple jesus, and maybe 80 yards for our whole team.
Mike Wallace breaks one deep. The Vikings Pass D is giving up big plays.
Polamalu prevents some big plays now that he’s back.
Its a 4 point game, decided by a failed Final Favre Drive.
That last one would be nice
I’d like to see our D step up in the 4th by shutting down a good offense. Do the opposite of what the Ravens did.

I just hope that
Arians lets Ben run the no-huddle for at least half the game, to wear out their DL. Puts pressure on their secondary, too, with which I am not impressed.
And the ST will have a much better game this week. Wouldn’t take much…
My heros have always been Steelers...
I cringe at the idea of Kevin Williams chasing Ben around
The less opportunities for Williams to do it, the better.

MY PREDICTIONS.
1) PAULA-GONA-MAUL-U finally moves out of his parents basement by the end of the year.
2)The Mullet becomes widely recognized as producing super powers.
3) Brett Favre throws a pass so hard it starts to combust while on route to Sidney Rice down the side lines after burning the Steeler d-backs.
4) After game Rothlisberger insists he is trades to Vikings.
5) Steeler fans riot in the streets, disgusted with their pathetic loss.
6) Hines Ward is destroyed by EJ Henderson over the middle and finally stops smiling.
7) Heath Miller sits out the entire game with a brutal case of diarhea.
8) Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson put up a combined 200 yards rushing.
9) Jared Allen hunts down big ben like a predator stalking its prey numerous times.
10) Actually I like Pittsburgs chances in every aspect of this game and thats coming from a vikings fan. I the vikes can pull of this game, then maybe this is the year…..

These are very good predictions. I have heard that Heath Miller does have frequent problems with diarhea, you must have a good source too. He might play through it though. I wouldnt want to tackle a dude with a brown leakage everywhere, it in fact could be an advantage

My Predictions
1. Before the game “Favre” is miss-spelled “Farve” 10 on BTSC this week
2. Win, lose or draw: BubbyBrister6, Billy52, and nycsteelerfan declare the season over if Ben throws a pick or Minn scores a single point in the 4th (just joking around guys, don’t get mad)
3. Cincinnati loses to Chicago and every Steeler fan smiles as they hear a faint whimpering “who dey” cry in the distance.
4. I see the Head & Shoulders Polamalu commercial 5,137 times this week.
5. We see 3 more trolls like this guy who just posted above me.
6. Whichever team loses “it was the refs that lost us the game”

my prediction
Big Snack ear holes AP and this becomes the first of many concussions that shorten this beast’s career… (remember Eddie George getting hammered by Hampton a few years ago, best hit ever) he dropped the ball before he hit the ground and he was out cold before he hit the turf. Steelers play their first full 60 Minutes and win 31-13.
Mine
1. Running game struggles at times, but Mendenhall busts 1 or 2 nice runs to set up key plays. He finishes with another goal line TD.
2. Roethlisberger has another good week tearing apart Minny’s 24th ranked pass defense for 300+ 2 or 3 TD’s 1, maybe 2 picks, does get sacked 5 times.
3. Steeler’s run defense is tested by Peterson, and the Vikings have success early on. Lebeau adjusts and Woodley picks up in Aaron Smith’s absence and plays a big role in stopping the running game similar to last week.
4. Polamalu still not at 100% Favre makes a couple big plays. Polamalu does pick one off later in the game.
5. Steelers pass rush nets 3 sacks. 2 from Harrison and 1 from either Woodley or Timmons, or they each combine for a half sack.
6. Santonio Holmes and Heath Miller each get a TD, and as I said above Mendenhall gets one as well. Hines Ward is Hines Ward again and Mike Wallace has 2 big catches.
7. Good game throughout, we win 21-17
BTSC Obituaries
